Ok to everyone, I know I don't post here much and rightfully so, I don't ever really ask for much. But this time I'm asking God for patience and guidance. Here's why...unfortunately of late I've had several friends and/or their relatives testing my patience and trying to either destroy my reputation or just bring me down as a whole. A lot of these people know that when my patience has been pressed to the point of no return I explode and then it gets turned against me and makes me look like the bad buy. So! I'm trying to figure out how to best deal with the matter with patience and guidance from on HIGH! So if you all would keep me in prayer and think about me often. :) Thanks, Jon.

I know how you feel. That is one of my strongest features in my nature and in fact , patience turn to passiveness. I would say work on your assertiveness, ie getting what you want without being either passive or aggressive. I am a direct person and do not like underhanded ways or aggressive people. However , i get anxious easily so that makes me fearful and worry over silly things.I pray that you develop the strength you need to deal with other people that create challenges for you and help you cope well every day . God Bless

Luk 21:19 " In your patience possess ye your souls."

Rom 5:3-4 " And not only [so], but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;" And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

Col 1:11 " Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;"

Jam 1: 3-4 " Knowing [this], that the trying of your faith worketh patience, But let patience have [her] perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing."

Rev 3:10 " Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Blessed in the name of the Lord.

Brother Jon, I have brought your needs to the Source of all, in faith that He will meet them. :)
I am sorry for this trial, but pray the Lord will bring good from it (as he always does!).
My husband had a violent temper (toward objects; never people) when we first married, but when people hear that now they all do the same thing. They tip their heads to the side with a "whaaaat??" look on their faces and say, "Mark?? No way!" To a man, this is the reaction that information gets.
This is the power of God to transform a life. This is being conformed to the character of Christ, and the renewal of our minds. :)

I say this in hopes it will encourage you, dear child. Patience is yours as a fruit of the Holy Spirit, so long as you walk in obedience, but the journey from death to life lasts as long as we are here. ( understand, dearest, that I speak experientially; positionally you are quite alive!) I ask that the Lord fill you with His Spirit, and that He give you the patience you need. I ask that He protect you from your enemies, and that His righteousness rule in this situation. I ask that He guide your steps, and show you the good way that you will walk in it.
Well done, my brother, to seek the Lord and his righteousness!

Greetings Jon. I definitely understand your desire to attain a spirit of patience in all situations. Patience is one of the greatest forms of self-control. I wish you all the best in seeking this important character trait from God (but it will certainly take time to develop, so be patient while you wait for it - lol).

"By faith a man possesses God, and by patience he possesses himself."

Jon,

I will pray for the fruits of the spirit come to fruition in your life...
I think that this trial is a move toward it.
By you catching this and asking for prayer,
shows a good first step to renewing your attitude and mind.
Love in Jesus, Shekaniah

I can relate to the "ignore everything that annoys you until you explode". Keep bringing it to God, and talking about it to God.
I think God would rather have us tell him "I am sooooo mad at x right now that I don't know what to do" than go around muttering and eventually exploding in their face :)

Also, remember: If you have a issue with someone
- 1 bring it up in private
- 2 if it does not resolve: bring a witness (a mediator)
- 3 if the person is not willing to put the issue in the past whatsoever, just leave it be

Hello Jon,
I feel for you. I myself am a very laid back person but with enough pushing I have been know to push back - which totally NEVER did me anything good. Of course I can rationalize and argue with myself the "soundness" of my 'explosion' at the time but when my heart has been stilled, I always realize I have sinned against HIM who saw the same awful things I "see" in others in ME! And still loves me to no end.

I pray God envelops you with soooo much of His Love. That as you come to a deeper understanding of His love for you, this will give you the strength and freedom to love others in the same measure.

Here are some verses I hope would comfort your heart.

Psalm 40:1
I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry. (NIV)

Psalm 37:7-9
Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper—it only leads to harm. For the wicked will be destroyed, but those who trust in the Lord will possess the land. (NLT)

Be strong Brother. You will be in my prayer.

Praying for strength and patience for you :)

I think God allows this 'buffeting' to give us the opportunity to practice what He's teaching us....the nine fruits of the Spirit: love , joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

Our pride is easily pricked sometimes; it takes practice to subdue it :).
