I found an old thread I wrote just over a year ago about being frustrated because I couldn't find a job. I had just come home from a mission trip 4 months prior. (You can read it here.)

Well, I have been home now for 19 months and am still unable to find a job. I am not so frustrated now. I just feel a bit stuck. Lately, I have found myself crying wondering when this will all be over.

My pastor preached last Sunday about how we all go through trials but sometimes we tell God, "Okay God, I am done with this trial now. Pull me out." Instead of asking God to reveal to us what He wants to show us or opening our ears to what He has to say.

It actually reminded me of my favorite Bible verse; "I will allure her into the desert place and there I will speak tenderly to her." (Hosea 2:14)

So, I guess my prayer request isn't so much that I find a job or even a community to surround myself with (though I would like to have both). But that I will open my ears and eyes to what God wants to reveal to me as I walk through this desert place.

Thank you in advance for your prayers and words of encouragement. May God bless you abundantly.

Praying in Jesus Christ is Lord for His provision and guidence.
Remember, we need to in faith, step forward in Jesus, even when we cannot see what is before us. :)

Hugs and God bless.

Thank you for sharing that verse! I read the entire chapter and it was so encouraging to me. Here you posted asking for encouragement, and yet you are the one who gave it. I'll be praying for you!

Hi. May Jesus bless you. I was getting no hours at work, and so many thing were going wrong. I wasn't a Christian at this time. Well, I eventually surrendered to the Lord and sought him. So many things he showed me in that very short time. Even miracles he performed. He had to take everything away so that I could listen to him, and I am thankful he did. Now I know what is worth living for; Jesus Christ.

May Jesus bless you.

Wow! I wrote this post back in 2011... just months after coming home from my mission trip. I had no clue what God had in store for the future.

I can say that I spent the next 2 years still looking for a job. I had very few interviews... we are talking 5 at the max!
Many days were frustrating but at the same time I knew God wanted to use the time to draw me nearer to Him. So, I began to take better care of myself spiritually and physically. And through tears, frustration and many talks with friends, I was reminded that God would open a door in His timing.

In January of this year, I joined a community at my church. It is actually a training group to train us over the next year before sending us into the mission field long term. Well, one of the guys in the group has been such an amazing part of my life since I met him. He's encouraged me to keep praying, keep striving and to be the confident woman that he knows God has called me to be. Because of our talks, I stayed persistent in looking for a job and coming to God daily (sometimes multiple times a day) asking, seeking and knocking.

On April 6th, my brother got a text message from our cousin. He asked if I would be interested in a bilingual receptionist job. My response? "Heck yes! I am interested in anything!" Five minutes later I received a call from a woman. The first thing she says to me is, "I hear you are a believer too!" As we continued talking we found out that we attend the same church. She then asked if I would come in the next day for an interview and if I would spend the rest of the day in prayer about whether I should take the job or not. The next day I had my interview and she says, "I want to take more time to pray about this but I will call you in a few hours and let you know."

I got home to find that our landline was down!!! I was freaking out. When our line was back up, I called her only to get her voicemail. She finally called back and let me know that I got the job!!!! I started work the very next day!

I am still learning the ins and outs of the business. But I know God has me there for a reason. And I am so thankful that He's open this door. I know that missions is in the future but I know He has me here now for a reason and a season and I am going to take in each blessing.

Hi ARC84, Even I have faced a similar situation , like you and God did reveal his plans in the end. Be of Good Courage, look in the Lord completely for his Grace, and Surely he will answer you.
