Hi Lonnie
Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. At least you are (or seem to be) pretty functional. I know that doesn't make the problems go away, but perhaps it may make them easier to bear.

My stepson is diagnosed with autism. You are beautifully and wonderfully made. I hope that doesn't sound like a cliche but I just want to encourage you.

Dear Lonnie, we are not what we're labeled by the world but who He created us to be -- His child and very specially made for a purpose. Not one of us doesn't have a purpose. We're not a title, diagnosis, or term -- we are created in His Image and He foreordained a special work for each of us to do, before the foundation of the world.
He knew exactly what we'd be born with or into - but He had plans from before He created all things for each of us to fulfill something of Him that no one else could. To touch certain people that no one else can help but us.
We represent Christ on earth - even if we're born blind, deaf and dumb. I've seen this in my lifetime. Those that love Him - bring something special with them that can only be one part of a huge puzzle that reaches out to a lost and dying world. Each thing that we go through makes us even the more special for sanctified [set apart] use.
I can't touch the people's life that you can and He puts us right where we belong and for a very Holy to Him reason.
We can't see ourselves by our dis-abilities but see our disabilities as something specially formed for a special use -- and one that we never imagined for ourselves. So look away from the 'label' and see your Title as a Child Specially Formed by God for a very special purpose on this hurting earth and we'll pray that He graces you with very many spiritual giftings or that you'll see what gifts that you already possess, when you're thinking about others as He did. Others-only-always, was the life that He led for the 33.5 yrs that He was here on earth and He has gifted us to 'walk as He walked on this earth'.

Don't know how much you know about Joni and her ministry but she's an amazing lady with an amazing ministry ... which would never have come to be if she had stayed in her initial depression over being almost totally paralyzed ... but here's link that you could look at - Joni and Friends

and then check out the rest of her site and her other sites and see what this one crippled woman has done since she was crippled in her teens and GOD BLESS YOU!!!

I have 2 persons diagnosed with autism as friends. One I did help when she was confused and had issues before she was diagnosed at 19 years old. I can tell you that autism does not need to bring more trouble than any other problem a "normal" person can experience. When you have Jesus it will change the situation (whatever situation it is) I have seen that with both my friends.

Jesus knows perfectly what you feel, and also what your struggles are.

Dear Father I pray for Lonnie,
That you give her peace of mind, in the midst of turmoil situations.
That you enable her to see further than whatever label the doctor has given her.
That you cover her under Your wings and protect her from evil.

He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. psalm 91:1
