I haven't been on here in a while but I know I can come here for help in prayer.
A year ago, my daddy was diagnosed with (acute) leukemia. It has been a constant struggle and battle for him but he has remained so strong. Last fall, he went into remission and was heading for a full recovery. Due to financial circumstances, my dad stopped receiving treatment for almost 3 months. Well, this of course affected him physically and the leukemia returned (double as aggressive). He was sent far away to receive more chemo and the outcome was successful but he had to pay the consequences. Because he received so much chemo he lost a lot of weight, the ability to walk, to speak, and to eat. This situation became much more complicated and stressful for him than the first time. After 3 months being hospitalized he returned home but that did not last very long. Because his white blood cell count was extremely low, he was prone to getting infections. And he did. Although he was home, he spent most of the time at the hospital. When he was released again, we were hoping this time he would last a little longer being outside. We were wrong. Due to shortness of breath, my daddy had to be hospitalized once again. It was this time when we received the worst news of our lives. The doctor told us his heart was in critical condition (due to all the chemo) and functioning at only 10%. We were told that at any moment his heart could stop. But let me stop here and glorify the Lord's name. Because that news did not come true. He was released from the hospital two weeks later due to a remarkable recovery. His heart was still weak but the doctors were in shocked he was able to resist so much medication knowing his heart was weak. Unfortunately, my family's happiness has been interrupted once again. Today, we got the news that the leukemia returned. This is the third time. And it kills and hurts me to hear that news because we were told 3 weeks ago that he no longer had cancer. So please, from the bottom of my heart, please pray for my dad, Sergio. It hurts me so much to see him like this because he is tired. Tired of chemo, tired of medication, tired of waiting. We have given him to the Lord but the Lord for some reason has not taken him. His disease is usually fatal within months of diagnosis. For him to resist such hardship is a miracle in itself. That's why I do not want to lose hope. I really don't. But I am so confused with what is going on. My dad has always been a healthy person. Never smoked or drank in his life. And also and most importantly has been a great servant to God. So please, pray for him. He needs strength, power, peace of mind and hope to overcome once again this cancer. And please also help me pray for my mom, who has been by his side all this time, for peace of mind. It would really mean the world to me, even it is one person that prays for him. Thank you and God bless you.

Jenny, not everyone who gets leiukemia dies from it. There is a reason why God has not taken him yet. As a cancer survivor myself, I can attest to the fact that God ALWAYS has a specific reason for everything he does!! :) You and your dad need to trust that God IS carrying him through this tough time, and that no matter what, your dad will be alright. I wrote a thread on my battle with cancer. I really think it would do both your father AND yourself some good to read my story. It is located in the Miscellaneous forum, and is entitled "blue_ladybug's uterine cancer battle." I hope my battle with cancer will inspire and encourage you both. Please feel free to message me ANYTIME you want or need to talk or vent about this. :)

Lord, please work a miracle for Jenny's father as he battles with leiukemia. Strengthen him and give him the tolerance he needs to keep fighting. Camp your angels around him so he may feel their comforting presence. Allow him to be free of any pain he is having right now. Assure him that you are with him, and that all will work out according to your plan. Please use my story to bless them beyond measure. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
