Marg, my heart certainly goes out to you. I read your profile and see that you are married. You professed earlier that your special long-distance friendship with Ben is the only thing that makes you happy. And now Ben is drunk and messed up and you are on the edge of your seat for him to call. You also previously stated that your son is in a bad way and that his sanity was at risk. He was recently in an auto accident at work, too. My heart is moved for you that things are in such chaos.

Nevertheless, we must turn to the Lord Jesus in all these things. I pray you repent of the idolatry of your friendship with Ben and turn him over to the Lord for safe keeping. I pray you commit to intercessory prayer on behalf of your family and especially your son. Your family is under attack of the enemy and your son needs his mother's prayers and love.

Holy Father God, open Marg's eyes to the truth of these matters and make her thirst for righteousness, for Your will I pray in Jesus' name. Let her turn from friendship with the world and surrender wholly to You, Savior Jesus! Reign in Marg's life, Lord that she know You intimately and be Your servant. Hallelujah!

I pray that your friend gets better and sobered up. I also pray for you to find peace. Leave it to the Lord. Don't worry, he will take care of your friend. :)
Also, maybe talk to your friend next time and tell him how you felt and how scared you were when he got that drunk. Let him know that this is not what God wants. God bless you!

violetreigns...... it says married, but I am not happy and have not been for many years. Am looking for my own place etc... but so far nothing. I know God wants me to be happy and also know that he would not want me to stay where I am always crying and upset. Thank you for your prayers.

Far be it from me to tell you to remain in an excruciating situation, my dear sister Marg. In fact, if there is any abuse involved, I would absolutely recommend separation and counseling.

My concern, beloved sister is that when we turn to another person for our peace of mind and happiness, especially when we are wounded and emotionally broken, it is a guarantee we are going to be disappointed. Nobody can be our foundation. Only the Lord Jesus Christ can be that for us.

And on top of that, your alcoholic friend could not possibly offer any type of guarantee of love for you. You have been requesting prayer over and over for two weeks that he would phone you. You obviously realize that he is not reliable or else you wouldn't be in such a panic about him not calling.

Unfortunately most people have to find out the hard way and keep getting broken over and over until they realize that it is themselves who need to change more so than the circumstances. Otherwise, we will find ourselves right back in the same situation. I pray to God that doesn't happen in your case. I pray the Lord help you find your own place of residence and that you find a stable church where there are women who could provide support, love and friendship with you. And that you would find a congregation where you can offer the gifts God created in you. You have purpose, my sweet sister Marg and that purpose is priceless to God and to the body of Christ. Nobody can offer what Jesus Christ can offer through you.

I'd hate to imagine you sitting all day and night waiting for some far-away friend to come out of a drunken stupor long enough to call you and offer you a few minutes of happiness. If you were my blood-sister I would cry all day long for you to have a different kind of life. I'm crying now, Marg! I'm crying for your painful loneliness and your misery... but

I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that Jesus Christ our Lord is able to keep you and me from falling, Marg dear! I know Jesus has better and more exciting things in store for you!! I know there is an abundant life in Him for you and that you don't have to remain in that dark house waiting for some empty phone call. I pray in Jesus' Holy and Blessed Name that you would take the way of escape that the Lord offers - FAITH IN HIM!

Call around for different churches, ask about women's ministries and talk to the pastor or the church secretary and ask if someone can come to your home and talk to you. Tell them you are in a bad way and need godly encouragement. Tell them you are looking for a new place to live so you can live in peace for God. I will continue to pray throughout this day and keep thanking the Lord on your behalf for the great and mighty things He is doing and will continue to do for you, Marg!! Keep me posted, my dear! I am standing in faith with you in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior!!
