I've had an exhausting trip around the east coast and Midwest, but I've met many lost and broken people, as well as Christians, so it was worth it, and I'm honored that God would use me to reach out to these people.
Please pray for Peter. God put him in my path this week. He's an ex Catholic, grew up in a strict religious household and is at the point in his life where he's searching because he feels empty. When he met me he saw the light of Jesus shining through me, he wanted what I have and said he saw such peace in me and such beauty inside and out.
I spent 2 hours talking with him over hot tea. He had a lot of questions about God and asked me how to be saved. God gave me the right words when I needed them. Amazing.
He didn't have a bible so I gave him mine and told him which books to read. He got excited and started bookmarking them. When I left I got a text saying he had started reading Matthew already
The experience reminded me of this scripture... Matthew 5:14-16: "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven"
Please also pray that God helps me find a good church for him to attend.
Also, please include Mike in your prayers. He told me he's born again, but he rejects Christianity. My feeling is that he's saved but he blames God for something in his life, so he's turned his back on Him. He told me hasn't picked up his bible in 10 years. Please pray that God draws him back and uses what I shared with him. Also.... Jim and Nelda who were very encouraging and I'm pleased I got to fellowship with them on this trip.
I finally get to go home on Saturday and rest. I can't wait to have one of those days where you do absolutely nothing. It's long overdue
