Prayer for my Brother with Broken Tibia

My older brother, Karl broke his tibia (the smaller of the 2 large bones in your leg) on Tuesday evening while playing softball. It is pretty much shattered and broken into about 6 different pieces. He will have to have surgery on Monday the 25th to have it pinned, and then will require months of physical therapy and several other follow up surgeries to repair the muscles/ligaments around the break... It's right below his knee.

Currently he will not be able to walk for a couple of months and will likely need to be in a wheelchair for that entire time as trying to support a break that severe on crutches is very, very difficult.

Luckily, he does have a 'desk job' as a customer support consultant for X-box Live- so he should not have to miss too much work because he sits for his job anyway.

Pray for quick healing, minimized pain, and wisdom for the doctors to know what to do to help him.

My mom will be taking Karl to have his surgery, but it's very, very difficult for Karl to even move, so just the simple tasks of getting him from the couch in his house to the car, and then from the car into the wheelchair to get into the hospital are going to be a challenge. Pray for him to have enough strength to be able to move just enough to make progress.

Okay.. I should have updated this days ago but I keep forgetting... It turns out that the surgery that Karl was supposed to have in Grand Junction on Tuesday didn't happen... When they got to the hospital there the doctor did further examinations and determined that he could NOT do the surgery that Karl needs because the break is too severe. The x-rays show that the bone is broken in about 6 different places and all of the muscles surronding the break are completely torn.

We have to take him to Denver this upcoming Monday now, to see a doctor who specializes in the serious types of injuries that he has.

Right now in the mean time though, he is in severe and constant pain, to the point where he can barely sleep. The doctors keep trying to give him stronger meds, or different med combinations in hopes of reducing the pain, but so far nothing seems to have worked and even though it may sometimes dull the pain initially it ends up coming back in full force within about an hour of taking the meds and he has to be careful about overdosing because he's had complications with is liver in the past related to taking so many pain killers from a previous injury about 10 years ago.

Please pray for him that his pain will be reduced just so that he can sleep!!! He needs the relief so bad right now!!!!

Right now you are walking through the experience of total restoration and miracles, to Him who is able, I pray He will used this faith encounter through the power of the Holy Spirit through you and in your future. PRAISE HIM, PRAISE HIM, PRAISE HIM.

Praying in Jesus for your brother and all asked and pain lifted.
Praying monday as well for him.
My little brother broke his leg a few years ago, actually shattered it, the pain was terrible for him also.
Many metal plates, pins and time, he healed, drs said he might not, but Jesus said with my healing he will!
He did and is doing well now.
My heart and prayers continue for your brother.

Wow, that sounds painful! Praying for a doctor to be found quickly that can do the surgery and that your brother's pain is greatly diminished so he can sleep.

Also, praying for a complete and speedy healing and that he will eventually regain full use of his leg.

Karl's surgery is now scheduled for 10am on Thursday morning at the Swedish Medical Hospital in Denver, CO. Pray for the doctors to have the wisdom to repair the break properly, and for fast healing for Karl. He just really needs the relief from pain. He will be staying in a hotel room in Denver until the surgery. Pray for peace and rest for him, as he has not been sleeping very well due to the pain.

Hello Alayna, first of all I want to say you and your brother are in my prayers. It is going to be a difficult time for all of you during the recovery process. Have faith and leave it in God's hands. we are all praying for him that he makes a great and quick recovery. He will need to listen to the Dr's and thearapist. I will pray that he does, I know how stubborn men can be, lol. I wish him the best of luck, I will start praying now. God Bless
