Hello everyone,

I have a niece who is 18 and needs to be uplifted in prayer. She was raised by her mother who spoiled her all of her life and also did not give direction to her but instead let the child make decisions without guidance most times. Don't misunderstand, her mother does love her but thinks that giving her everything she wanted was a way of loving.
This lead to my niece dropping out of school. She took it upon herself to join a Youth Challene Program where they taught her structure and helped her to study to earn her GED.
My husband and I had the privilege of her coming to live with us for approximately 4 months after the program was complete. We continued to show her structure and shared The Lord with her and tried our best to guide her in the right direction.
She left about 3 weeks ago and returned to her mothers home. Since she has left she has been distant and not so responsive to us as I would have hoped.
Her father was not involved in her life much because of the fact that she shunned the structure that he would provide when she visited him in trade for her mother who gave her anything. He did still see her occasionally but chose not to demand that he see her and let the daughter make the choice as to whether or not she wanted to visit in order to avoid conflict with the mother.
Please pray for my niece, Keri, that she will use the guidance that we provided going forward and even more so that God will continue to be present in her life.
Also please pray for us as we deal with her lack of response at this time.

Thanks and God Bless,
In the name of Jesus I do pray.

Poor Keri! It sounds as if she may have been a bit of a pawn in the game between mothers and fathers who are not together. :(
That may be totally wrong...just I've seen it so often, and almost all the time the parents don't realize it's happening.
What child will choose structure and rules over anything she wants? :(

And there are plenty of parents who give their kiddos the world who are together. It is just a mistaken belief about love, and we surely do all make mistakes, as parents.
I pray Keri will remember what she's learned about true Love--agape from God, and will be drawn back to those thoughts.
And that our Lord will comfort your hearts with that same love as you deal with the feelings her lack of response stirs up.
In Jesus' Name. ♥

Her mother once told her she was her mom and her dad and never did encourage her to see her dad. Sad, but that's the way it goes sometimes.
Thanks for the prayers.
