I will not put in all details, but my wife left me just over a month ago. I had wronged her in many ways, including being addicted to pornography. We have a 2 year old daughter together.
She slept with someone else a week after she told me it was 'over', she said doesn't love me any more, and she is a different person now. This broke me completely, but also made me cry out to God, and he has really shown me the errors in my ways over the past few years. I had never felt the Holy Spirit until recently!
I will refer to my wife as N from now on, as I don;t want to reveal her real name.
N has told me that she is no longer a Christian and she also doesn't care about anyone but herself and her daughter. She believes in tarot cards, numerology and palm readings. I have also noticed a complete change in behavior in her lately. She has been using drugs, drinking lots, ignoring our child and generally been on a bad path. Being concerned for our child, I spoke to her about this and she promised that she would stop the partying and focus on her daughter. I have honestly seen improvement since then, but this is not my main concern.
The bible speaks of generational curses (see Numbers 14:18 for example) and my N's family has one I am sure. There is history of incest, bestiality, every marriage ending in divorce etc. in her family history. Both her mother and my church pastor agree. N's mother told me that she has had many demonic experiences with her, including N trying to stab her and talking in a voice that was clearly not hers when she was 10 years old.
I fear that there is a strong demonic influence on her right now and it is really causing some bad decisions.
I am desperate to reconcile with her. I made a commitment to N for life and I am standing by it, plus I am in love with her and want to spend the rest of my life with her. God hates divorce and wants me to honour my covenant.
I wrote N a letter the other day saying all of the things that I am so very deeply ashamed of that I did/didn't do in our marriage and asked for her forgiveness. I asked her for a bit of time to speak to her, picked her up from her sister's house and I drove to a quiet place and read the note out loud. She cried while I read it to her and she said that she forgives me. She also said that she is still a Christian (she believes that Jesus is the son of God and died for our sins) but that she is also drawn to the divination practices like palm reading. She also said that God is OK with us getting a divorce. Then she asked if I could drive her back so she could have a cigarette. On the way back she plugged in her iPhone and played a death metal song extremely loudly through the car system. I turned it down a notch, but she turned it up. When we arrived back at her sister's house I asked 'what was that all about?'. She said that it was an anti-Christian metal song and it gives her energy. My church pastor thinks it was a demonic provocation.
I ask for prayer for N that this demonic stronghold is torn down and replaced with the Holy Spirit. I also ask for prayer that her heart is softened and she has a real experience with God so that she can see what Christianity is all about. She has not got any strong Christian influences in her life now and I really feel that she could do with some!
