Ok, I have an interesting situation here and this will be a bit long as its quite complex, so bear with me! I have been helping a friend, Holly, out with her wedding for the last month. She is not a best friend but a fairly close friend that I have gotten somewhat closer to. She is planning alot of exciting things for her wedding and I am very very happy she has found someone after so long.

So, I have been very excited about this wedding as it is shaping up nicely....and then, yesterday, I get a bit of a wrench thrown into my plans as my biological dad (who I only met 7 years ago) writes and tells me that my cousin Louis (who I have only met once and do not know that well) is getting married on THE SAME DAY AS HOLLY! At first I said, well of course I will be going to Holly's wedding and then I thought wait, what if I am supposed to perhaps head out that way and get better acquainted with my biological family? It has, in all fairness, been 6 years since I have seen them and I have been feeling rather distant from them, including my sister. The only problem is that they all mostly speak french and I cannot understand them and also, they are not christians at all and I often have found the atmosphere borderlining on crude. I have found that often times I have not had the grace to be with them in these situations and its very awkward, not wanting to compromise yet not wanting to be holier than thou. On the other hand, Holly is planning a very Christ-centred wedding and I will be seeing alot of familiar faces. With Holly I feel at times too, that I do not fit in with her super spiritual ways...so you see, I have two extremes here with equal emotions to different things. Keep in mind that God sometimes wants to stretch us out and be a witness to others as well, not just always be with all the right christian people...its just a matter of how much He gives me the preparation for, I think thats the key.

I am not nervous about what God will tell me, because I know He will lead me in the way I should go....I would just like to request prayer that it will be clear and soon, as I need to make the decision soon. Any thoughts anyone has as well, would be great...always like to hear what others would do in this situation.

Thanks and God bless!

I pray that God would confirm what path He would have you take and strength and wisdom to carry out that path.

SOLOMON IS NO LONGER HERE BUT KING JESUS IS. OUR MIND SHOULD NOT BE DIVIDED NOR OUR HEART. JESUS SAID, WHO IS MY FAMILY, THOSE WHO OBEY MY WORDS AND DO THEM. SOUNDS LIKE YOUR FRIEND IS. BLESSINGS TO YOU AND HER.
