Hannah, I am praying for your precious friend, family and you.
Please believe me when I tell you once the initial shock wears
off, things will begin to fall into place.
I pray right now for her to heal from the surgery. I pray she
will have the desire to overcome the shock of losing a part of
her limb.
I learned something when my father in law lost both his legs,
and my dad lost one. It is what is inside the person that makes
them who they are. It is not the limbs. Right now you can't see
that, nor can she. But if you will look at her beauty she has and
see her as a strong person, encourage her with everything you
can think of. I don't mean pound it into her that she will walk
again, etc...but gently love her with words of reminding her she
is beautiful, you are there for her. The prosthesis today are
made in a way she can walk eventually. I pray she can find it
within herself to know "she can do all things through Christ who
gives her strength" I think the greatest lesson for me when
I saw my father in law go from a gruff man to a gentle person
whom we never knew existed. It is hard to go through the
changes it makes in their routine. I know you will be with her
and Jesus will guide you and show you what you can do to help her.
