First of all, I want to say thank you. You've answered some of my questions, brought some very good passages to my attention, and I greatly appreciate it. However, due to some messages I'd received and from hearing from other Christians at various churches, I'm not really sure what to think, so I'm throwing in the towel.

I've tried talking to God, asking him to guide me in his word, I've prayed. Everything that I hear him telling me and I believe to be from his word apparently is all from Satan. I'm tired of believing I'm following God. Chances are I'm already condemned for following what I believe is God and apparently following Satan. I didn't know, but I don't want to follow that anymore.

I always thought we were supposed to love our neighbor, regardless of their sins. Homosexuals, murderers, theives, everyone. Do I want their lifestyle? No, but I'm not going to condemn them, it's not my place. Well, apparently loving them is pure evil.

I have had several passages that I follow, but apparently that's wrong to do as well. For example the Bible says NO sex before marriage. NO sex. Yet rape is not counted. Why am I suddenly counted as pure if I was raped? Isn't that placing myself above what God said? Isn't that saying "Well, I know more than God so tough."? I'm condemned for that.

God will forgive any sin, you just have to stop doing that sin. Well, I can't be pure ever for my soon-to-be husband. So how can I be forgiven for something that I can't change? I've murdered insects as well, bacteria, etc. If all these are lives, how can I be forgiven if I'm forever thought of as a murderer?

Like I said- I want to thank everyone for all their help, I'm just not really seeing a point. How was I supposed to know that everything that I had "someone" lead me to believe that was backed up in the Bible was actually Satan? I had no idea. I'm just do fed up.

Smithbr8, we are supposed to love everyone. And, we are not supposed to condemn people either. However, there are things The Lord told us in The Bible are sins, and it's perfectly fine to say it's a sin.

To answer your other question, here's a parable: My son keeps running out in the street, and I don't want him to get hit by a car. I tell him he's going to be in big trouble if he goes in the street again. Along comes a doberman pincher, grabs him by the collar, and drags him into the street. After killing the dog to save my son, he asks me if I'm going to punish him for going in the street. What do you suppose I tell him?

Don't worry about being pure for your husband. You can be forgiven for what you have done. God knows the past can't be changed. Also, killing insects is never referred to as murder in The Bible. Our Lord Jesus ate broiled fish before returning to Heaven.

I was wondering, were you saying that you were raped? If so, you don't need to be forgiven, because there's nothing to forgive. The attacker needs to ask for forgiveness.

Dear Smithbr8,
Im sorry you have gotten so many "mixed messges". You do sound frustrated! It is and has always been my understanding that "rape" is not a consentual sexual act but force. Similar to being beaten up for no reason. You would not blame the victim in that situation, so the "sin" of Fornication (sex) is not counted against you. This is because of God's justice and his grace. Sex inside of marrige is not a sin.
It's not wrong to love others, thats what Jesus does :).
The rest of your comments I'm not sure I understand, but I see you are online so maybe we can chat a bit.
God Bless!

Sweetheart! Voluntary sex is forbidden, and the rape was not voluntary on your part! Even if you did have voluntary sex, God would forgive you.
That's what His grace is all about! It doesn't mean we can live a lifestyle of sin as His children (and I know you understand that) but it does mean that the blood Jesus shed on our behalf covers all our sin.

Okay--had to get that out there first. May I suggest you eliminate "various churches"? Each one seems to be giving you a different message, if I am interpreting what you say correctly. You're right---people who do not belong to God as believers are not ours to judge. We may safely say that what they are doing is sin, if the Bible says so, but they are God's to judge, as people. I wonder if the church's stance on homosexuality is a bit of a knee-jerk reaction to the actions of the gay community, but that's another discussion.

And beloved, if you have received the Lord Jesus as your Savior...He IS your Savior. You may throw in the towel, but He will not. Ever. This is what I believe is Truth. Nothing can separate you from His love.

I'm praying you will find some grace-giving believers and a church where the marvelous grace of God is understood and taught. We tend to make God so very small. :(
I hope you will not leave our CC community, but more than that, I hope you will not abandon the true Church---the Body of Christ, of which I think you are a part.
love,
ellie

About the sex vs rape, they are two entirely different matters

If a man happens to meet in a town a virgin pledged to be married and he sleeps with her, 24 you shall take both of them to the gate of that town and stone them to death—the young woman because she was in a town and did not scream for help, and the man because he violated another man’s wife. You must purge the evil from among you.

- The did not scream for help signifies she did not mind it happening (that time's version of a one night stand I assume).

25 But if out in the country a man happens to meet a young woman pledged to be married and rapes her, only the man who has done this shall die.26 Do nothing to the woman; she has committed no sin deserving death. This case is like that of someone who attacks and murders a neighbor, 27 for the man found the young woman out in the country, and though the betrothed woman screamed, there was no one to rescue her.

As for your views "being wrong", keep in mind that people have different opinions, and some are more eager to judge than others. We are all saved by grace through faith.

It also says that though our sins were scarlet they will be white as snow. Remember what Saul did before he started following God, yet his sins were forgiven.

My heart and prayers go out to you.
We are unperfect people living in a un perfect world.
Don't seek the wisdom of people...it's flawed.
The olny way to find peace in in the spirit of Christ.
We have free will...if we choose to do God's will,
We have free peace!
I pray you will find the peace that surpasses understanding.
Love in Jesus, Amen

Phil 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Psalm 62:5
Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him

Psalm 37:7
Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.

Luke 12:4
I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more.
But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.

To fear the Lord is like the fear you had not wanting to disapoint your parents.
Not wanting to be separated from God due to sin.

Don't worry about being pure for your husband. You can be forgiven for what you have done.
By this, I meant don't worry about what has already happened, of course. I reread it, and realized it sounded wrong. Don't worry that you can never be 'pure', we are ALL sinners. any future husband you may have has done wrong also.

In Christ, -JIM

???

First of all, I want to say thank you. You've answered some of my questions, brought some very good passages to my attention, and I greatly appreciate it. However, due to some messages I'd received and from hearing from other Christians at various churches, I'm not really sure what to think, so I'm throwing in the towel.
stop listening to what other people think and pray and ask God to reveal HIS wisdom to you. sometimes its best to spend some time alone NOT listening to other people.

I've tried talking to God, asking him to guide me in his word, I've prayed. Everything that I hear him telling me and I believe to be from his word apparently is all from Satan.
of course a person is telling you that, who are you going to listen to God's voice or that of another human?

I'm tired of believing I'm following God. Chances are I'm already condemned for following what I believe is God and apparently following Satan. I didn't know, but I don't want to follow that anymore.
??? someone done a number on you, why not go back to trusting GOD with your salvation and following His Spirit that allows you to have love, joy, peace, gentleness, kindness and self control in your life.

I always thought we were supposed to love our neighbor, regardless of their sins. Homosexuals, murderers, theives, everyone. Do I want their lifestyle? No, but I'm not going to condemn them, it's not my place. Well, apparently loving them is pure evil.
no we are to love them. we love all people even if they are sinners but we do recognize what is sin and what is not.

I'm condemned for that.
you know God forgives murderers right? Saul had many Christians killed and imprisoned.
God will forgive any sin, you just have to stop doing that sin. Well, I can't be pure ever for my soon-to-be husband. So how can I be forgiven for something that I can't change? I've murdered insects as well, bacteria, etc. If all these are lives, how can I be forgiven if I'm forever thought of as a murderer?
plants are not considered alive because they do not have the breath of life, therefore insects and bacteria are not considered alive by Bible standards either. killing animals for sacrifice is not considered murder either.
Like I said- I want to thank everyone for all their help, I'm just not really seeing a point. How was I supposed to know that everything that I had "someone" lead me to believe that was backed up in the Bible was actually Satan? I had no idea. I'm just do fed up.
okay dokie.

now that you've had your rant, you going to pray about it, read the Bible yourself and work on the lifelong relationship with God and walk with His Holy Spirit or give up cuz its just too hard?

I am praying thay you will come to realize the problem lies within you, not God,or anyone else, God gave you free will and ability to choose Him and follow Him, and without the heart made pure by faith, you will have many doubts as to why you struggle with sin, and why the world and church struggles with vile sins!

I know this isnt going to be a popular response for many, but its the truth none the less!

But you have obeyed from the heart
Rom 6:17 But thanks be to our God that you were the slaves of sin, but you have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered.
Many today will say its right and good to obey God, but we clearly cannot obey Him as He commands, and others in high profile ministries will teach following and obeying Jesus isn’t the gospel!
Now who is right? God or man?
IF you are still a slave to sin and disobedience, and thinking this is the normal Christian experience, then you are still a slave and IN bondage to sin mocking what Jesus did on the cross to set you free once and for all from the corrupting influences of sin and the devil!
1Jn 3:8 He who practices(produces) sin is of the Devil, for the Devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was revealed, that He might undo the works of the Devil.
1Jn 3:9 Everyone who has been born of God does not commit sin, because His seed remains in him, and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.

Those who are born of God, do not continue in sin, and why? Because they repented, came broken before the mercy seat of God, in all humility and contriteness, now with a purified and crucified heart, they can obey God in all sincerity, purity and love, which is the purpose of the command!

Now you must obey from your heart, and keep obeying the word of God, which must be made pure through repentance! 2 Corinthians 7-11.

Apart from this kind of faith (obedience) and walking the purified and crucified life unto Christ, and trusting in His great strength, over the temptations of the devil, is all vanity, and has no power over sin, temptation and the devil!

Heb 9:14 how much more shall the blood of Christ (who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God) purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Now IF you obey the doctrine of godliness, now having been delivered from the godless life you once lived, it will all make sense to you, as ALL the scriptures must harmonize together!

But how can you know this IF you do not dig deep, look beyond the reformed errors that get you saved in sin, not out of them at some time in the future, and seek the truth with all your strength and diligence!

Remember the truth will set you free, and you are a slave to whom you obey, so if you obey from your heart as commanded, then you will be a slave to righteousness (doing what is right) but the choice is in your will, as to whether you will repent and crucify your flesh, Galatians 5-24, or stay in your sins, falling into willful, presumptions sins that lead to death and hardness of the heart.

Obedience does matter, it’s a privilege and an honor to obey God, BUT you simply cannot do it, unless you do your first works, Rev 2-5, and come to Him cleansed and purged by the blood of Christ, from all dead works!
