I like to be specific in my prayers. if it's ok what is your moms name. The reason I ask is jesus example of raising Lazarus. if he would have just said come forth whole family plot would have risen. But he said Lazarus come forth.

MaryAnn

Thank you.
She has improved and hanging in there, but for this latest introduction of the deadly hospital bacterium into her lungs.

Saturday morning update.

I was awakened by an alarm and saw Mom sitting up in bed. She was gurgling and needed suctioned. The nurse came in the room and went to get a sedative.
I told her that she didn't need the sedative , but a suction because I can hear her lungs.
Another nurse came in and took care of that.

Her respiration has improved quite a lot, but the mucus is no longer clear, but red. That indicates trauma from the new intubation scraping the pulmonary lining and perhaps an infection. They got the most recent culture / sensitivity test from the lab and sad to say, they introduced a hospital super bug, MERSA.
I believe that Dr who re-intubated, (inserted tube into the lung), was mistaken. He should have waited to see how she faired with the mask and nasal cannula instead of overreacting and giving her MERSA with his filthy hands during his procedure.

I am praying and hoping that her strength will return. Last night her respiration was lowest it's been AND UNASSISTED by the ventilator. She's breathing on her own with great O2 and CO2 exchange. Vitals very good!
The Lord is answering our prayers.
My latest concern is that infection he gave her.

God bless you all and your precious families!
Curse the bug to die in the name of Jesus. I caught a virus at work once that gave me a nasty cough that continued for months. We had a large bus load of tourists come in and I quickly ran into the toilets and cried out to the Lord as I was coughing and couldnt really talk without coughing. I heard within me "curse the virus to die in the name of Jesus" I thought I may have imagined it but had no other options so I said aloud to it I curse any virus in my body making me cough to die. I got through dealing with customers and within two or so days I didn't cough again and it had gone. This had been hanging around for months. Also forgive all the doctors, nurses and your brother so that is no obstacle. I pray your mum comes through this fully unscathed.

Yes, I must keep forgiving.
My Mom is a poster lady for the woman who suffered many things of many physicians and spent all she had yet grew worse. I am very grateful for the good ones. I've also met those who should take basic measures to avoid cross contamination between patients.
I could write a book about the harm some medical professionals have caused to family, friends and those I serve.
I often need reminding to forgive .

I will curse the infection and with faith in God, command it to leave.

22And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

That is right we as Christians have the authority through Christ to command and by faith it is done, so long as what we are asking for aligns with His word. He also said:
John 14:12
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”

Everything Jesus did (except forgive sins and shed divine blood for all humanity) we can do so long as His will be done.

Make sure that everyone entering her room wear a mask, wash their hands thoroughly, and wear gloves before handling her or any of the devices touching her. That includes doctors. If the doctor refuses to do so, don't let him near her. She has the right to a sterile environment and so do you. It is not uncommon for family members to contract MERSA from patients.

Your mom and and all of your family members are in our prayers. Keep God close.

Our Loving Father in Heaven,

I come before You with a heart filled with faith, seeking Your healing touch for Healthandhappiness's mother, who is dear to you. Grant them strength and courage as they face this time of illness, knowing that You are with them every step of the way.
May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen.

I warned my brother just before I left to go back home to get work done.
I know what you mean. I agree with you.
They use the same stethoscope from person to person with no covers or alcohol swabs, etc. I will be diligent.

A man who came to a local hospital for a routine exam, got a Bradley infection.
His family and I visited him..
I brought the last of my immune tea I had left. His wife decided to drink it instead.
He died a few days later.
His family members got deathly ill and I barely made it out of bed to find another life saving immune booster.
His wife never got sick.

how's mom today, brother?
Another doctor that I haven't talked to previously, said that Mom can have the Tracheostomy procedure done today. That means that the intubation tube in her lungs can be removed. She will by necessity have a gastral tube directly to her stomach.

Good news is that her respiration is normal and is breathing unassisted at lowest O2 setting of 30% . Her saturation remains in the 90s so it seems she's overcoming that major hurdle from last week!

Last night the Dr said that she might not have a MERSA infection after all .
However, this morning he believes it's possible she does, so is continuing the powerful antibiotic. That was recommended especially for the proceedure. It's been an emotional rollercoaster, but God has granted strength to all of us.

Our Lord bless you lots for being such a blessing!

Surgery scheduled for 3:00.

Risks: Infection, blood loss, anesthesia, meds.,
Heart

Weighing pros/cons, this will get her off the long tube that goes through the mouth and puts a short one lower into the trachea. It will allow for draw of fluids, while providing relief of mouth constantly open and occasional gag reflexes she now has. She should then be weaned off sedation as tolerated.

I don't like it, and would rather she have physical therapy, but was not informed until it was late. Now the options are limited.
The respiratory therapist has seen people recover and eventually eat by mouth again.
That's encouragement.

Please pray for safety, that she would get the size gastric tube that will allow real food. Also, strength for her, no infection, damage to trachea or loss of blood. Anesthesia long term risks.

Thursday, April 9 Update:

The Hospice Doc on the floor cancelled my Mom's surgery.
He then tried to impress me with his vague description of her CT scan from the time she was admitted. He spent at least 20 minutes trying to convince me of the lack of all the reasons she should die at his hands with 'comfort care.' In Canada they call it the CARES Act. The states have their own version. Like a high pressure salesman, he focused on her decrease in value due to battle wounds from knee and hip surgeries, etc.
These kind of palative "care" professionals really put us on a roller coaster.
My brother was consigned to whatever he said. The dude/ Dr told us that the decision was really up to the "Ethics" Committee.
I'm SURE they have the moral high ground and weep for God's will and read the Bible daily for their tough decisions. 😐
Back in the obummer administration, they were called Death Panels. That are a reality today in the freest nation on the planet. How sad. The forced socialist medi-sin might have been defeated, but it left us with Hospice on steroids.

Update:

I took some time to tend more towards Mom's immediate needs rather than talking about them so much. I found it stressful rethinking and talking about the ups and downs so I took a break from this prayer request thread as there have also been relatives and medical staff to share concerns.
Sorry for the time away.
Every couple of days there's been a challenge in spite of the good days. Today I finally got to talk to a physician, a young resident, who informed me that Mom's insurance turned down the request for a Respiratory Rehabilitation Center. This was the first Dr that my brother and I were able to talk with on this floor in spite of the multiple pagings and untold hours in her room.

I said something about that"in private" to my brother in a waiting area. A respiratory therapist was eavesdropping around the corner and twisting my comment to him until he left. Then she approached me in virtue signaling Karen style to tell me that her nurse loves Mom and has been very caring, when I said nothing at all derogatory about her nurse. That was my favorite nurse.
This Karen respiratory therapist says her piece and runs off to the nurse station.

Separately from my comment I simply asked my bro what she said to him. She told him that she was thinking that Mom might not make it. I told him that she's been working long hours and might have had a rough day.

I asked her separately if she had any idea why Mom's vitals had dropped when she was doing so much better? This week her O2 saturation has been very good and breathing upper 90% unassisted. Today it dropped to the 80s.
She told me that" perhaps nature is taking it's course," in a Solomn voice in front of Mom.
I said, I'm just trying to figure out the CAUSE of that.

Then a little later this evening Mom asked for a suction of her lung.
Up came the exact same brown color formula that they've been running into her feeding tube. It appears that the sorry excuse for "perfect nutrition" the previous hospice Dr called it 4 times, is making her stomach upset. Rather than changing the corn syrup, canola oil and soy garbage to something truly made for human consumption, they inject her stomach with anti vomit meds.
The brown formula has been coming up and going into her lungs!!!

Instead of feeding something edible, the damned medical protocols in these places will likely say Nope. We will inject the stomach with anti vomit drugs that are for cancer patients. Then we poison the body with antibiotics so the digestive tract can not function.the Canadian machine oil not fit for animals and round up Glyphosate corn and soy is perfect nutrition. The stomach acid will be neutralized by dangerous proton pump inhibitors. If that doesn't kill her, they will try some other way by chasing their poisons with more poisons.

How I wish that her neighbor never took her to the hospital!
She had a gash on her head and a bruise from rolling off her couch and hitting the coffee table that should NEVER have been there.
Her head healed.faster.than a child's skinned knee.
I know the Lord did that.
She would have been alright if her neighbor just called me instead of taking her to that place.

Last night was bad.
She had nightmares, low oxygen saturation and lots of lung coverage.
Please pray for Mom's recovery and salvation.
She has been unable to speak, but can hear.
She needs to get saved.
Pray that our Father and His only begotten Son will draw her into Him as the Holy Spirit reproves of sin, righteousness and judgement when I witness to her. John 16:8-11.

Update Thursday April 18

Mom has been very lucid and seems more pleasant than me under these circumstances.
I must maintain a genuine positive outlook especially when in her presence. I want her to look forward to recovery as she certainly is.
We were trying to play charades since she can't speak. After a long time we finally guessed what starts with the letter"W" that she wanted. It was her WALKER that was across the room! 😄
She wants to walk now, but is not allowed out of bed as a fall risk.
The one nurse told my brother that she will never walk again. I thought that inappropriate, but she's entitled to her opinion. That's all it is. I consider what all have to say because I have a lot more to learn in spite of thousands of hours studying under the best doctors I know of. However, My faith lies not in the medical model, the drugs, equipment or the staff. As much as I appreciate some of those, my faith is altogether in The Great Physician, our Lord.

I don't have time this morning to give a full report right now, but have a very urgent request.

*Please pray that I can find LOCALLY the best meal replacement mix that :
A. Mom's stomach will tolerate.
B. Will help provide the nutrients she needs for recovery
C. Will be able to be pumped through a 2mm IV tube.
D. Will be approved by the resident doctor and dietician.
I need to find something that provides a healthy source of main ingredients that will provide energy/ calories that will not cause reflux, upset stomach and aspiration into her lungs. That is what the hospital formula has been doing. Otherwise, she would be doing MUCH better.

Thank you 😊🙏

PS:
One more URGENT Prayer request.
Please read my previous post if you missed that one. Here's another to add.

I just talked to her nurse a little while ago.
Through the night and all this morning they have been suctioning BLOOD with the secretions in her lungs!
My brother stayed last night and said it was brown, just like the tube feed junk from Abbott Labs. The nurse said that was not in the medical record, her notes from the previous nurse. I noticed how things like that, which makes the hospital or caretakers responsible, get conveniently left off the hospital records.

Anyhow, please add prayers that her lungs will heal immediately from the damage someone caused with the suction tube.
Also for safety from aspiration.
They are still feeding the same aweful formula. It's the same thing with a minor variation of the contents ratio.

Lord Jesus thank you for HealthandHappiness bringing this matter for prayer. May this woman's stomach be healed so she can eat food without any issue, may all the problems with the digestion be removed now. We also command in the name of Jesus Christ that her ability to speak would be fully restored without any issue so that she can communicate fully and clearly. Finally, any sickness with her lungs be removed and fully healed so that the oxygen level in her blood returns to normal and all secretions in her lung cease and are removed. May this happen immediately in the name of Jesus Christ, the great physician. Amen.
