...in the 20th celebration of the birth of my daughter, Hannah?
The enemy has tried a few times to take her life. I had a "near miss" case of placenta previa, and then when she was being born my OB, who is also a sister in the Lord and prayed with us when we got to the hospital, cried out--"Stop pushing!" The umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck three times. The docs call it "the hangman's noose" because so many children haven't survived it. ( :( )

When she was three, she had a virus (tummy) that dehydrated her so severely we almost lost her. (Thank You, Lord, for hospitals and IV fluids!) When she was four, her sister, carrying her, slipped on some ice and dropped her on her head. There were complications, and again, we came close to losing her.
When she was a young teen, she became depressed and seriously considered taking her own life. (We asked the Lord to get after the enemy in a big way!)

People say God must have big plans for her life. I believe it, even if it doesn't turn out to be some earth shattering thing. ;) I believe it because I already see big plans being fulfilled in the joy she brings into the lives of all who meet her. Her name means "graceful", and though I argued with my husband about it :( he was right--it suits her. She has grace for everyone.
I'm just so happy I get the privilege of being her momma. ♥

Thanks for sharing our joy-
ellie

What a blessing children are :). Happy birthday to Hannah!

And what a blessing you are to her....she will realize that someday, if she doesn't already.

Hope you're feeling better, Ellie :)

Thank you all--Hannah had a lovely day. She woke 4 hours before normal today, found me on the deck, greeted me with a huge smile and told me what a terrific day she had. :)
All she wanted was her recently moved out sis and new bro-in-law, pizza, and for the whole family to see a movie together. Which made for a nice day for us all.

There was something about this brithday this year for this child that struck me...I really appreciate you all sharing our joy! :D ♥

Happy B-day Hannah
Hannah in her distress flees to Shiloh ( this is another name for Jesus / Yesua ) to seek refuge in the tabernacle . Hannah who had to deal with the Peninnah (Coral, Pearl. To turn the face) Peninnah was the thorn to Hannah that brought her to her knees. She turned her face from the pain of Hannah and even rubbed it in her face. GOD is in everything and had Hannah not had a Thorn in Peninnah the world may never have been blessed with the great prophet Samuel. All pain is for one thing bring us so close to the LORD so that we can hear his whisper

Thank you. ♥ My husband wanted her name to be Hannah, and I didn't. As she grows, I believe my husband, who always prayed about our childrens' names, knew this was the right name for her, and I believe that wisdom came (as all true wisdom does) from our Lord. :)

Jim, I can't believe you remembered that! LOL
She's going to be a t-i-n-y empress...at 5'2" and 95 pounds, most people guess her age at about 13 (poor baby!). But she'll have her trusted lieutenants, like you, to be the muscle. ;)

Tell her I said "Operation Oyster" is ready for implementation at her command. I could only get 758 dirigibles on such short notice, but I think they'll suffice.

There was something about this brithday this year for this child that struck me...

these words of all of them brought me to tears and I have no clue why. somewhat prophetic I think... either that or I'm a little hormonal ;)

God bless~!!
