Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver instruments, but also instruments of wood and of earthenware, and some are for honor while others are for dishonor. Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work. — 2 Timothy 2:20-21
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the congregation and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the Word, that He might present to Himself the congregation in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing. But that she would be holy and blameless. — Ephesians 5:25-27
