Reason number 1.
Matthew 21:12:13
Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves.
"It is written," he said to them, "'My house will be called a house of prayer,' but you are making it 'a den of robbers.'"

Reason number 1 says it all and there is no more reason needed to add.....

Dear Aaron. CC is not a church. Wasn't sure if you knew that or not.

There is donation that is reasonable and there is many other chat room that does not charge people to use private message, and we're about socialize because that what christian is about that is getting together, and this is preventing us from getting together.

I don't pay anything and I don't seem to have a problem getting together with anyone on CC. I don't believe that applies to Christian chat. Besides using private messaging all the time and doesn't cost anything. You don't have to pay anything unless you want to.

O.K. I will leave it the rest up to God I've done my part, and post the scriptures.

Pres19 I think he means the private messaging function in chat. As of April 1, 2015, for all new people who join, in order to PM someone in chat you need to be a subscriber.

Yeah I just realized that. Lol
But still if the chat site needs to charge for it in order to keep this site going then I see no problem with it. If someone doesn't like that then just go without. (Not meaning to sound rude) but it does take money to keep a site running and I'm sure the monthly fundraising doesn't make what is need to help with that. That's just my opinion though.

I would love to own a new car, even a car from this century would be nice. Alas, can't afford it, so don't have one. It's a want, not a need.

Likewise, you want free chat. It's not a need.

What do you do for a living? Shouldn't you do that for free based on that same verse? Assuming suddenly you think you should be paid for your work, why shouldn't the owner of this site be paid for his work?

Thanks guys......

I've never understood why some people demand that I and my family are somehow obligated to serve them and thousands of people for free with no compensation (and I don't know how that's even possible). Yes we need funds to support our work, and yes we have significant operating expenses (and actually the labor should be considered an operating expense as well).

So yes, the subscription system (where some features are only for subscribers) does help fund our operation and keep the site going.

Incidentally, or rather purposely, it also helps protect our site from abuse. When private chat was open to all new members, there were a lot more annoying pm's to ladies, and we had a lot more blatant abuse to deal with (things reported that happened in private chat, such as cyber sex attempts, spamming, etc.). But I guess Aaron79 also insists that somehow we are obligated to dedicate our lives to serving him (and thousands of people) in dealing with all the abuse in private chat as we serve him for free and pay for everything for him.

Anyway............

Truth be told -- not that anyone can or should expect this from us -- we actually do serve thousands of people worldwide for free (many never giving anything for years of service, and sometimes very personalized service), with many many free features and access. But instead of appreciate all the free service, some users like Aaron79 want to actually fault us and demand more (and even quote scriptures insinuating that we're a "den of robbers" because we have a subscription fee for some extra features).

Another thing. My family and I concluded a long time ago that we simply do not want to serve such people. We much rather devote our time and limited resources to serving people who have a little more gratitude and who aren't here to bash us in any way. Hence, I am banning Aaron79 and I take full responsibility for that. Perhaps he should stick to Facebook where maybe he'll get more "free" features (while making Facebook filthy rich).
