It is just absolutely PERFECT for Jesus, when he had come to this earth, for his earthly father to be a carpenter. I love carpentry, and there is something very satisfying about taking raw wood, and shaping it and molding it and designing something for it to become. To assemble the parts and finish the woodwork, in the labor of your own sweat, is truly something that brings satisfaction.

I wanted to be an engineer. But I am not going for that anymore. But I still like to build and design things.

One of the things that stuck out to me about God is his precise attention to detail when he was building something. He built things according to a pattern (some of you know this pattern). The measurements were exact and they HAD to be made that way.

I am not so exact, and don't pay so much to that kind of detail. God is the ULTIMATE engineer!!! He is the ULTIMATE carpenter. Jesus knew a lot about woodwork, but I wonder why he was a carpenter's son only?

He could have been a silver smith's son, or a iron smith's son, or a black smith's son. But he was a carpenter's son.

It is a very free occupation. I would love to, every day, go to my shop, and build some wood design, and pray to the Lord and rest peacefully. Everyday, building, and praying and resting, enjoying fellowship more than anything with the ULTIMATE CARPENTER!!

I say the same thing of a fisherman. I say the same thing for a gardener. Every single day in praise of my Lord.

May Jesus bless you.
