I have been dealing with a lot. I am currently battling a severe depression, grieving from the sudden death of my brother from 2012, and the demise of a relationship which left me with little to no self esteem or self worth. I am lonely, unemployed and sometimes feel close to calling it quits an I have to wonder sometimes if god has abandoned me. Today when I was doing laundry, a butterfly flew towards me. At first I tried to shoo it away, but it dodged my efforts and landed on the clothes n the basket I was carrying. It stayed there, even as I moved my hand towards it. It eventually flew away, but I can't help but wonder if it is a sign.

Hi tiptb,
Are you a Christian? Have you given your life to Jesus? If so then you should be aware that God will never leave you or forsake you. Right now it must feel that He has but trust me He hasn't. You feelings seem pretty natural to me, given you are grieving deeply for your brother.
If you are lonely don't be. You have a host of brothers and sisters in Christ, both at your church (and you should be attending given your circumstances and feelings) and of course on here. There are dozens of people willing to pray for you - I will pray for sure!
If God is trying to give you a sign and you are unsure then He will give you another...and another until you realise it is indeed Him but regardless of this God's Holy Spirit resides in you (Jesus said so in His word) so you are never alone.
There is no doubt you are going through a valley in your life. The best way for you to help yourself is to go to a church where you will be prayed over (or for) and do see your doctor who will help you get over this hurdle.
