don't know if I spelled that right or not but I just finished talking to my older brother and he told me something that I didn't realize about my mom.

He said she was Christian. I know she believed in God and didn't mind me going to church and was ok when I converted from Buddhism to Christainity but she still goes to the Buddhist temple, for her its more social because all her Cambodian friends are there and she only goes like 2 or 3 times a year, but she doesn't go to church either.

She avoids talking about religion and if you know anything about suvivors of the Khmer Rouge it makes sense. They tended to kill anyone religious, educated, lived in towns or if they blinked at them wrong. My parents smuggled out a crate of Cambodian primers when they immigrated here. Education has always been key. We didn't have clothes and sometimes food but we had pencils and school supplies.

It explains a lot, I thought all Buddhist believed in God growing up lol.

Now to get the grand kids to get her to come to church with us. HAHAHAHHA (you can just hear my mind making up schemes she has a hard time saying no to the grand kids :) :D
