I was a widower of two years living in sheltered accommodation with my daughter aged 10. I was living in the northern border region between England and Scotland and had been converted for about two weeks, I had had a really hard time spiritually and I was exhausted and I was alone.
I had been to every church going since my conversion and every service trying to hear the voice I heard that day, but all through the meetings there was no where for me.
As woke up on this memorable day it was as if the past two years had been a bad dream. I was waking up in my bed in Wales (where I had lived previously), I felt the warm breath of my wife on my back so I snuggled into her because I felt cold and as i did so I told her I had had a really bad dream, that she was dead and we had lost everything except the clothes on our back and our daughter. I turned to face her and tell her how much I loved her . . . .
I was in shock for over an hour. I was living through the grief all over again it was so powerful it consumed me (Just writing this brings back powerful memories). It was as if she had just died the pain was indescribable. I spent most of the day in tears I only just managed to get my daughter to school without breaking down completely. I wandered about the town aimlessly, I could see satan in peoples faces, behind their eyes (not everyone) and they were mocking and laughing at my pain.
I found myself in a small courtyard and there was a sign saying 'The Granary' Christian help and advice center. The people there saved my life. The manager prayed with me and the pastor of the church that was held in that building (the only one I hadn't found) came in and prayed with me as well. I became a member of that congregation of chandelier swinging charismatic group of Christians and found my home.
