Jeremiah
(1:5) Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.*
(1:6) Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.*
(1:7) But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.

I have in the past made a lot of excuses for not doing the things that I should. The biggest area I suffer in this is in sharing or teaching. I have always had a hard time speaking to people. I honestly don't see this changing. I don't believe it ever will. Thankfully the tounge is not the only way to communicate. *
God wants us to share our knowledge he has given us. To use it to bring others to him. To lead them into his paths. To encourage. I know that I have failed at this in the past. That my inability to talk to others has held me back. A failing that I thought would keep me from fulfilling what God wants me to do. To share *with others the examples he has used to teach me to be what he wants me to be.*
I am in awe of the way God uses us in spite of our human limitations. *That all we have to do is let him use us as we are. That as long as we don't make excuses why we can't do certain things, he will show us how to do them a different way. A way that we will accomplish what he wants that fits into our personal abilities.*
I believe that instead of making excuses why we can't do the things God wants us to do. We should just say OK God, I know you want me to do this. You know what abilities I have. I don't see how the abilities I do have are going to make it possible for me to do this. Show me how to do this.
God wants me to teach others. To help them understand what he wants them to do as well. Pretty hard to do when speaking is a problem. *I can see now that it really wasnt speaking. *Speaking is just our main form of communication. There are other ways to communicate. Like writing. I am honored to be able to use this form of sharing God. After all it is the form of communication he has used to preserve his instructions for us.*
When something is Gods will, He will show you the way! * * **

Yes, not everyone has the gift of 'speaking' but they still have a lot to share. My church sometimes has other men teach the lesson....and the lesson can be EXCELLENT if you really listen closely, but if the speaker lacks presenting ability, many people are shuffling around bored. That is probably more of a comment on the lack of concentration on the listener's part but unfortuately, the poorly delivered word falls on many deaf ears.

The written word has the advantage of being able to edit, rephrase, delete, etc., and it can be passed around. Like here!

I do think, though, that we should be in a social group, face to face with people and be able to talk about God. A small group study is ideal for this! And we need to pray aloud together. I can do this in a small group but feel completely stifled in a bigger setting. It gets easier as we practice it.

Thanks for sharing your words :)
