It was the first night away from home.... A new college thousands of kilometres away from the security and comfort of my family.... Alone I laid in the bed of my new hostel with tears in my eyes.... How-d I survive five years away from my family in a place where I'd have to find my own path without my parents' guidance....how-d I live without the people who spiritually supported me in Christ.... Afraid I laid with hot steaks flowing down my cheeks.... Suddenly the sky released the scariest storm I've ever seen.... Rain and hail poured down....and as if it wasn't enough.... The lights went off....leaving me in alone in the darkness of a strange room.... I wanted to go home.... I needed my mum's warmth.... My dad's protection.... With the last strand of battery left in my cell phone I played a song "light up the sky" by The Afters.... Didn't expect anything to happen... But it did.... In the midst of the darkness a light shone into my lonely soul and with it come such peace that I'd never known before.... My tears continued but they were out of the overwhelming feeling of love I felt surround that small dark room.... I could feel His arms holding me close to His chest... I suddenly didn't feel alone anymore.... I was reminded of how I'd never be alone no matter where I was.... I had forgotten but I was reminded... I would never be alone.... Even through the darkest night He'd light up the Sky!
