i sincerely love the mormons missionaries i've met -- and sincerely pity them. they are greatly deceived, and though they profess to love Christ, they simply do not know Him. what they were told of Him, they love - but they don't understand who He really is, because their church teaches them carefully contrived lies. i remember them often and always pray for them, that what seeds the Sower may have planted through the words He gave me to speak to them might flourish, so they could cast off the darkness they are in and come to know the true Light.

these young ones are sincere people, however misled -- but i've spoken with 'elders' and men & women who know much more about what their prophets actually teach, and about all the contradictions between these things and the actual scriptures that they 'claim' to honor. all of these people i have ever met were liars or willfully blind.

dude, just.. no. this is not like comparing a pentecostal to a lutheran. they are as far removed from actual Christianity as a hindu.

Hello Miri.

Ty for your comment.

I'd suggest an online video named "what mormons believe : Cult". It is made by a mormon church member and she clearly explains what really a Cult is.

Bye.

Dear W_kilden,

ty for your comments.

I'm aware of lots of their teaching but I'm not sure what you wrote is the right conclusion they have.

I suggest one could get some mormon studies and COMPARE it with other christian studies without any conclusion at first.

My article aims to share a christian experience and it doesn t want to approve nor reject christian doctrines.

bye

Dear Posthuman,

From a general christian point of view, I guess that it often happens that one believes to be always more right/correct than other christians. It always happen when one compares oneself to others regarding only doctrines instead of comparing faith and the fruits of faith one has.

My article is aimed at sharing an experience of faith, not at claiming some right doctrine.

God knows His People. That is the most important thing.no?

Ty for your comment,
Bye

if sound doctrine is of purely secondary importance to some quantity of faith and the fruits of it,
wouldn't we all be just as well if not better served being atheists who do good works, thus having no burden of "truth" to live up to, and free to live our lives purely by emotion and completely without our brains?

this is paganism; the spirit of the age that teaches universalism and the 'personal godhood' of every individual's opinion. it is frankly quite disturbing to see this trend developing in the world, and even among those who would call themselves believers.
believers in what? if you do not have doctrine, you do not have truth - so what do you believe in?

the wrath of God is being revealed on mankind, who trades the truth for a lie. you will not find anywhere in the scriptures teaching that encourages a Christian to set aside doctrine for the sake of good deeds, or to stop using our minds in favor of our hearts; rather it is the work of the Spirit to continually renew our minds, so that we can discern the will of God (Romans 12:2) -- discernment is an act of the mind not the heart.

the injunction of the apostle to us is to walk no longer after the world in the futility of their minds (Ephesians 4:17).

when you are ready to ignore doctrine, and set aside your mind for the sake of your emotion, and honor "fruit" higher than the truth, then although you may have "faith" i would put the question to you, "faith in what?"

if we do not have the gospel, then "fruit" is nothing more than works, and works do not save. they cannot save. the Jews had good works, and they were condemned still by the law. they did not attain righteousness, because they were trying to establish it, not submit to it - they did not attain righteousness because they were ignorant of God's righteousness (Romans 10:3). again, a matter of doctrine -- even though they had good works.

no friend,
if you ignore false doctrine, because you enjoy tasty fruit, then you do not have a gospel in which to place faith.
you cannot have the gospel if you do not have sound doctrine: the gospel is doctrine, and fruit flows from it.
the moment you exchange sound doctrine for "fruit" you exchange the truth for a lie.

a buddhist, a moslem, a hindu, a sikh, a taoist, an atheist may exhibit good fruit. all may have faith in something. if that something is a false god, what good is the fruit when the One True God returns to judge the world?
He will tell many that He never knew them, their works and their fruit notwithstanding.

please do not turn off your mind simply to raise the volume of your emotion. this is not good.

EPH. 4:14-15-16.
That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine,
by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into Him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

From Whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth,
according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body
unto the edifying of itself in love.

11COR. 11:2-3-4.
For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to One Husband,
that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty,
so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached,
or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel,
which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

PS. 54:3. -
For strangers are risen up against me, and oppressors seek after my soul:
they have not set God before them. Selah.

MATT,12:30.
He that is not with Me is against Me; and he that gathereth not with Me scattereth abroad.

Every once in a while, when I feel like I need to improve in my faith, I'll come here and read testimonies. Stumbling upon this one, it caught my interest and I read through must of the threads, so forgive me if I'm going to say the same thing that someone else already said.

I don't see this as the author of this thread, I believe his name is John, blindly falling into "demonic" trap, but instead being used as a tool of God, possibly even God's way of strengthening his faith.

The reason I think that is because a few years back, I had gone through a really hard time in my life and it was at that time that I felt the Holy Spirit comfort me. Within a few weeks of coming to Christ a couple of young Mormons showed up at my doorstep. That was the first time that I had ever been in the conscious presence of a Mormon, and they were in trouble because I was filled with a huge Holy flame at the time.
So the knock at the door came, I opened the door, they introduced themselves as Mormons, asked if i had time to listen for a while, I smiled, told then to give me a second while I put on a jacket and shoes, and told them that I would be honored to talk to them about God.
I stepped outside my door, mainly because I wanted to smoke while we talked. I then gave them the opportunity to say their part, asked a few questions so that I could understand their beliefs a little better, and then I let them hear my story. I talked for about half an hour, I spoke with conviction, knowing that God had brought me to this point ... When I was finally done I just remember the look on their faces, their jaws were dropped and they were in awe. All they said after that was "thank you so much for sharing your story, we never knew God was like that, and was a real pleasure to have met you".. And we went our separate ways.
I have never seen them since, but if nothing else, I do know that I planted a seed in them that is going to make them second guess everything they now do or say.
As Christians, we know that our only job is to show love and compassion, and in doing so we show others who God really is. God will always give you the right words to say when He wants you to say them. Just be strong in your faith, and God will handle the rest.
