Before July 10, 2012, I was a hate-filled, atheist, fornicator, adulteress, filthy-mouthed, drinker, addicted to several prescription drugs. I was even proselytizing atheism to my students, trying to undermine their faith.
On the night of July 8, 2012, out of nowhere, I had a spiritual battle with a demon. It was incredibly real. God rescued me from the demon. Two nights later, on July 10, I cried out to God that I did not believe, and to help me in my unbelief. Immediately God enveloped me with His love. Over the course of three hours, He showed me Jesus' love, he showed me all the people in my life who were gifts to me from Him. He reminded me of the time when I was a girl and was visited by an angel. God did not let me die in my sins! Immediately I was transformed. I was so filled with love, peace, joy, happiness. At the time I was living with my boyfriend. He was not much interested in God. Every day since then I have prayed for his soul. He now believes and goes to church with me! After I was saved, I kept living with my boyfriend. I was told by a couple of Christian friends that God saved me in exactly the situation that I am in, and that He understands. But that felt increasingly wrong. God was strongly urging me to make a change. On March 3, while I was praying, I asked God for clear direction. He told me 1 Corinthians 10:9. I immediately went to my bible and read "we should not put Christ to the test!" The next day, in the morning, I told my boyfriend that we could no longer sleep together until we got married. That night he proposed to me! We are now getting married on June 8! I could go into so much more detail about the TREMENDOUS work God has done in my life. I now engage with the homeless and marginalized people on the streets and in my classroom. I share my faith with my students, some of whom knew my previous self! All Glory to God! I love Him so much!
