I always felt empty inside and wanted to be filled desperately, when I went to University I started searching. I found pornography, sexual immorality and self gratification to give me the thrill, the intimacy and temporarily fill I craved. It wasn’t long before it wasn’t enough and needed more and more. It did give me satisfaction while committing the sin, but afterwards I felt guilty, ashamed and dirty. I was truly living a double life, pretending like I was a virgin and a prude to my friends but that wasn’t the truth. I tried many times to fight it, but no matter what I tried, I always fell back into the same cycle of sexual immorality. One day, I met a lady online who I told everything, her advice was to seek a church. I did but although I was still living a double life always falling back to the sexual immorality. Eventually I knew in my heart that Christ was the only way out of this lifestyle. That’s when I found the Way of Purity course, at the Setting Captives Free website. Through the course I learnt biblical principles and practical advice to live a life free of sin. It is these principles that brought me out of the darkness and into the light. Here my eyes where opened to see that what I was looking for was right in front of me all along. It is Christ who fills the emptiness, who satisfies my ever need, changes my heart, cleanses me with his blood and above all sets me free from my sins. I may not be able to give my future husband a virgin, but I can give him a woman who is pure in the Lord. Thanks to God’s grace, I have been free from all forms of sexually immorality for 59 days and continue to walk strong in Him, who I am now closer to than ever before.
