Reconciliation
My father was addicted to alcohol. His health wasnt good and so when he drink even one beer he could fell asleep We (my mother , brother and me) were all angry at him becouse he waas no help around the house. We often argued with him and yell that he is useless pathetic etc.

In 2008 I joined a community and in summer I was on a retreat
When I got back I had a diffrent point of view
I didnt see my father as a useless drunkard but as the man who I knew as a child when he used to take us to a park and other places How it was fun to play and talk with him He was always smiling
I also felt sorry for him becouse his health was really bad

After a month or so he went to the hospital
One day when I was visiting him I told him how I love him and how sorry I am for being so rude to him

I thank God that He made me see the truth and that I had the chance to talk to my father and apologize before he passed away

Paul87 how wonderful that you had the opportunity to make up with your dad and you did! The reconciliation was for both of you. Often times it takes our heavenly dad to remind us to love our earthly dads. God will honor you because you obeyed him and honored your earthly dad.
