Yes, as stated , I worked in deplorable conditions a couple days straight and sickness resulted , rats are NOT something you want to let get in your working quarters, hard lesson learned , but, praise God, He got me through it , and, its nearly cleaned up and ready for what He wants me to do next :) Prayer for that area of my life appreciated , Christ peeps and, Maya God of all answer your cries our to Him, both your silent ones and alouds :)

Let's first look at these opening verses that deal with a very real bad sin, the very real potential we will soon find out of one bad (spoiling) apple in a barrel will infect the whole barrelfull.

1Co 5:1 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. 1Co 5:2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you. 1Co 5:3 For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed, 1Co 5:4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 1Co 5:5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.


To me, the word 'commonly' speaks of nothing out of the ordinary, this speaks volumes of the spiritilual level of learning this church us at, 'milk,' not yet ready for 'solid food,' and, the lauding favortism of 'I of Paul,' 'I of Cephas,' 'I of Appolos,' 'I of Christ,' teacher admiration gets exponentially outdone by this winning man, having done a bad 'deed,' with his 'father's wife.'

Paul expresses powerful presence of himself there in the church although this is a letter written by Paul not in their presence physically but, indeed, Paul IS spiritually with them, both his spirit which is with the power of Jesus Christ, and, 'power' equals the Holy Spirit, FYI.

Paul speaks in the imperative (command) , telling these that just stood and watched and who are arrogant that they SHOULD have been mourning for this man, which would, perhaps, make this man repent, perhaps, the Lord leads, and, this brings the next point that Paul is , in a very long sentence of chiding these standbyers , says that he is asking now in powerful form through calling on 'the name of Jesus,' for the Corinth church body to remove this fornicating man from their presence. And, then to salvation is spoken, this man who was a part of the church, I'm guessing a great personality, since he committed this deed and others were just 'arrogant' about his act, as this man probably was boasting of 'it,' could one draw conclusion, this man can, perhaps, be saved unto salvation of his 'spirit' even though his act is so bad, and, not just is the man kicked out but Paul hands the man over to Satan, do you almost sense thus like Job, except Job was blameless and this man was blameworthy? This sinning man's flesh is to he destroyed so that he can still be saved. Most interesting, but God uses Satan for a means of punishment, does this speak of this man having been God's before willfully succumbing to his fleshly , fornicating choice? What does verse 10 tell us, and, contrast that verse with 11?

Looking at the next verses , 6 thru 9, this man is leavened bread, and the church is, as a whole, is unleavened, symbolic of 'purity,' so by this man's illicit, immoral behavior others now are becoming weakened, slowly unstitched from the word of God implanted in them. Can grave consequences result from a 'good apple' meeting a 'bad apple,' you donknow that dual meaning there? Good person of God & bad person of God.
The bad apple is very quickly able to smear the 'good' with its bad IF the situation is not addressed clearly and punctually, of which Paul does indeed do 'both.'
Paul then exhorts them to be of 'unleavened,' free of the levity, not to mention, severity, of becoming leavened bread that will take the yeast right out of ya , infecting you to rise to your pride, and, this results only in malice of thought, action--wickedness.

90%, still a tinge of something, but, Yes, I am thankful my great God kept me from any great length of time sickness. Praise be His name, I was sick for close to 4 months last year, not admitting it at time but God was speaking to me, of those rats' . I have NO regrets , it was time well spent , including beginning to comment in bible discussion forums, after having been only in singles forum previous 2 years.

So, let's go ! Christbro, you are being greatly treated (blessed) by our King of kings and Lord of lords, our Almighty God, Prince Of Peace, Holy One, Counsellor, may He continue to use you to treat others to tasty understanding of our most blessed words from our God as He leads your studying, revealing, showing, teaching of His great Truth that is led through your spirit in Him, greatly, grandly, royally, to be praised, with prayers of supplication and thanksgiving.

May this work continue to bring ALL glory to God, for in this glory given to the Glorious One goes ALL power and honor and majesty, you are awesome in my sight, precious Lord, I will follow you.

[FONT=Times New Roman, serif]not to associate yourselves with = this is in the subjunctive, that is, it is a qualified negation. The only reason it is not absolute is simply because: otherwise it would be needful to leave this world. This also speaks as to why 2Co 6:14 (be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers) is also spoken with a qualified negation. So, he is not talking about those on the outside of the Church, those who need us to come and tell them of Christ, but those who would call themselves brothers/sisters and would be a part of the church. Such people who continues to live in sin, after the appropriate procedure of correcting a brother/sister has been exhausted (Mat 18:15-18), are not to be a part of the church, or even have communal supper with them (with the same meaning of: I will come in and sup with you). If they are to be thrown out of the Body of Christ because of them living in sin, then does that not represent how they could also be thrown of the Christ's Bride? Take into consideration the reversal of verse 13 with the understanding that I wish you to understand that salvation can be lost, and therefore, take heed that you do not subcome to a life (habitual practice) of sin, but that you remain in the race until the end of the race, and it is there that you shall receive your reward: having returned to an actual fellowship with your God. So, take this into consideration:[/FONT]

What if he wanted to remain a servant of another? What if God was never hearkened to before he died? Can it be said that the son found forgiven even though he never sought it before he died? Did he not become alive AGAIN when he turned back towards home in repentance and was then found not to be lost? Give 1Co 5:13 consideration.[/FONT]

The prodigal son requires a thinking understanding, revealed tiniest detail by detail, by the Lord. What of this 'prodigal' can be paralleled with this 'immoral.' What or this son, he was a believer. What of this immoral man, having done the dirty with his father's wife, this immoral's stepmom, NOT mom, if be any confusion. He was called a 'brother' by Paul, too, part of this Corinth body who Paul stated early in 1 Cor. 1 had spiritual gifts, that was not something to even remotely fight over, who were 'saints called of the work of Jesus Christ,' does it say in early chapter 1 of 1 Cor. too, no?

So, this is an interesting extrapolation and co-urging by cee that we must hearken to He who calls us and risking going off away from the Father's hand (TAKEN!) is not wise, Satan is cunning, you, in that brief respite of freedom only THINK you are wise. :(

Paul questions rhetorically that 'what business is of the church to expose the deeds of darkness of a turned, evil man, who took the cup of Satan, does any certain betrayer of Jesus come to mind? When WE take the cup that the greed inside us (our FLESH) willingly gives in to,cSATAN is right THERE to SNATCH us up all the while cradling us as he let's us drink this 'cup' of DEATH ! God will harden our hearts further in some cases or just allow the wicked to be Hung and strung, so to speak, by Satan. Read John 12 for more on this, middle verses of chapter, think its 27-37.

But Paul is wickedly direct about the sin of an immoral person in the church, don't just sit there, GET togETHER and tell this man, in Love, HE NEEDS TO GO, prophetically, righteously JUDGED , because this man IS part of this believing body (nonbelievers outside church are God alone's JUDGING, ), , God will deal with his sin and that is good, great, rather, for God to show man way to mercy, away from judgment, for the alternative is SATAN taking this immoral's soul !

shall judge (Future Active Indicative)...world is judged (Present Passive Indicative) = first note that the KJV have both in the future tense. But, it is interesting to note the two tenses used in verse 2. We all have a glimpse of understanding that there will be 12 judgment seats for 'humans' to judge the 12 tribes of Israel from Mat 19:28 and Luk 22:30, and without getting into the mechanics of how, who, when, and why, let us agree that there are 12 seats for humans to judge from. And just because they are judgment seats, that neither means that we are to hand out verdicts of condemnation, of which sort of judgment only belongs to the Lord. I think, seeing that through authority verdicts could be given, being made kings and priests (Rev 1:6), and whatever other authority which He shall give to us in His Kingdom, that we are not judges as the Lord is a Judge, but that through the seat we are given to seat upon, we display the diversities of gifts given to us by God's Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:8-11 lists nine of them (word of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discernment, tongues, interpretation of tongues). What I find interesting is, 'the world is judged', as though it has already been judged by us. I understand that Christ is the Judge and it is His adverse or blessed verdict which falls on all. So it cannot mean that we have judged the world, as to be one who passes a verdict. Could it mean that the world through us is judged based on the gifts given to us by God? Example: Christ is our wisdom from God, through this wisdom, we speak judgment. Again, through healing: we show God as equitable (perfect in His love towards all) and merciful.

This is very interesting and I would like for us to expand upon this. What are some thoughts and Scriptures to help us to understand what is being spoken about here?

Pretty plain and simple this one who WAS a partaking believer in this Corinth church became unrighteous.

Unrighteous= wrong standing (relationship) with God. IF the man HAD asked for forgiveness, all is well, Christ peeps, we are not having this conversation. However, this 'brother,' 'so-called' brother did never REPENT. This is a critical thing, cee is not there yet but in 2 Cor. 2 Paul speaks of the importance of asking forgiveness EVEN WHEN Paul wasn't sure of needing to ask forvit or not, afterall, it was the Corinth church following by lack of punishing this adultering man (sex with stepmom was offense) GRIEVED Paul.
So, why does Paul initiate leadershio, asking forcforgiveness even tho 9 of 10 odds he did nothing needing forgiveness?
