1 Corinthians Chapter 1...Grammar Study

[FONT=Arial, sans-serif]I am trying a different format. Instead of breaking things up into verses, I will be breaking things up into paragraphs and presenting information in blocks. I may not properly break things up, but my intentions are well meant. I would like feedback as to if this format is better or should we stay with verse by verse.[/FONT]

To the church (gathering, assembly) of God, the one being in Corinth, having had beensanctified (made holy) by(instrumentality)Christ Jesus, called (invited) saints (holy ones) together with all those everywhere who are calling upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to themselves (middle voice), both theirs and ours (Lord). [FONT=Arial, sans-serif]having had been sanctified (peRfect passive Participle) = properly, it means 'the sanctified church". The perfect tells us that it was an one time event. The passive tells us that they received the action. The participle tells us that it is an adverb describing 'church' (those gathered together). It is not telling us that all churches are sanctified, but that this particular one has been.[/FONT]

[FONT=Arial, sans-serif]calling upon...to themselves = that is, to call upon Jesus to present Himself to them. Example, "Henry was called upon to present himself to testify in court." So, to call upon the name of Jesus is to call upon Him to present Himself to you. In the sense of invoking (God! My God).[/FONT]

[FONT=Arial, sans-serif]peace from God and Jesus = this tells us that there are at least 2 in the Godhead where peace can come from. But Revelation 1:4-5 tells us that peace can come from God the Father, the seven Spirits (seven manifestations of the Spirit), and from Jesus Christ. The absence of mentioning the Spirit here does not diminish the existence or even the importance of the Spirit, but does agree with the teaching of the Spirit not speaking of Himself but of God the Father and Jesus Christ.[/FONT]

[FONT=Arial, sans-serif]by every utterance...knowing = the difference of translation comes from the word G1722 having two different meanings: in (the state of position (relational)) and by (instrumentality (that which is used)). And in keeping in harmony with verse 6 stating that the evidence of the Christ is established in a person, then just as that establishing does confirm to us the actuality of that reality (our fellowship with Him (v9)), we are enriched in every thing by every discourse and every knowing revealed to us by the Spirit. Also, this is why we are to study Scripture so that when the Spirit does reveal Truth to us, we will know that it is not an evil spirit in disguise. [/FONT]

[FONT=Arial, sans-serif]On the other hand, even saying 'in' instead of 'by', we are still in harmony with verse 6. In that, with the testimony of the Christ in us, then in every discourse and knowing revealed to us by the Spirit, we are still enriched in all things by such a relationship of Him being in us.[/FONT]

[FONT=Arial, sans-serif]testimony of the Christ confirmed in you* = We must first understand that 'testimony' means 'evidence given'. That is 'prove'. Then that 'confirm' means 'to make sure (establish)'. What this is conveying is that Christ is not a theory, but that in every conceivable manner, HE IS REAL and that evidence has been given to you as pertaining to this reality. So, until you come to this embedding of this reality, then the leading of the Spirit who speaks of this, is no more than an arguing point of contention. It is the administration of the Spirit to speak to you of this reality and by denying the leading of the Spirit, one denies this revelation.[/FONT]

Very opulent details of 'Him' in Cee's notes, Christ peeps, quite crafted subtlties, heed these words effect, for soon in this all will come words that rock your socks off, from this area of Scripture, the Lord will guide you, fellow servants and followers,cwho have put their trust in Him, and, know, too, that 1 John 4 speaks of how we are to test evil spirits and ANTICHRISTS: they will DENY Christ came to earth to save us . This said, just in keeping a bit with what Cee stated.

The word 'gift' is important to understand it's meaning, Paul is versing that one grows in knowledge and utterings of Jesus Christ by Him, which Cee deftly states is, indeed, the Holy Spirit, whom Christ gave us a a Helper of Himself once He left earth with His ascension, having fulfilled the work of His Father, in complete and utter submission while on earth. Paul urges those of this church in Corinth, who are SANCTIFIED, which, quick defining, is to be made 'holy,' to take on the Holy Spirit unto your life, your being, as I doctrinally believe. The Lord leads, some of late have tried to prove to me (infinitely unsuccessfully) that the Spirit is just there in space and does not actually 'unresolved' in one.

Hmmm, let's stop there, not to get too off topic, hmm, YES, Dear Lord...amen, I pray what's just been said can, hopefully, preface and complement Cee's great translation of Scripture verse and His simple understanding of showing him 'Him.' The Lord leads. Can we confirm (this is an active word, notice, too, what Christ is asking of sanctified believers in 1:8, what is asked of their faithfulness

While we yet have the confirmation of the Christ inside of us, we do so eargerly await for the FULL MANIFESTATION of our Lord. But, for now, rest in the Truth of knowing that we have been spiritually bestrowed with the reailty of the Christ. And this lively hope in His coming, that we are anchored in our faith.

1Co 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
1Co 1:11 For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
1Co 1:12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
1Co 1:13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

1Co 1:10-13 Now, I exhort you*, brothers, through (channel of an act) the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, so that you* all would speak (relate) the same thing and there would be no divisions between you*, and you* would be restored by (instrumentality) the same mind and by (instrumentality) the same resolve. Notes:

would be restored = not that they were separated from their fellowship with Jesus, but that there was no harmony of speaking the same things concerning doctrine taught in the new Covenant. Specifically here, the doctrine of being a follower of Christ and His teachings, and not that of another, is being spoken about. This speaks not only of divisions which causes what we call denominations, but most differently, sects which follow the personal doctrines of a man (cults) under the guise of Christendom.

In the same mind and the same resolve = 'Father, let them be one as we are one.' We, as Jesus, are to be in harmony with God's will. Being of the same mind will enable you to be of the same resolve: in the bringing in of God's Kingdom. And by such resolve, we work with the Spirit in helping to bring in as many brothers into that Kingdom as our High Priest. And that we do through love which shows no judgment, but mercy.

Has not Christ been divided...name = is there any other you may follow to God's rest? Has God given to us any other name by which we are saved? Is there any other who God has accepted as an appeasing sacrifice? Is there any other who sanctifies us?

God wants us, all denominations, to be one of same mind and same resolve, trying to be at an understanding that we all are in Christ, and, as such should remember there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus.

Christ did not create the divisions of doctrine that cause wrath, rage, and, impure thoughts by us toward another. Satan did orchestrated such a thing. So, let's all, can't We alk, just be without borders and boundaries over issues that break us up unto our way to Jesus?

This is something of faith, to resolve this kind of solution to our not liking one's doctrine. The Lord leads, and, YES, I too, Christ peeps, struggle with this Truth.

This is not to say that God has selected those whom He will destroy without due consideration, but that by the Salvational plan of God in action, they are being destroyed per God's plan of returning all things back to Him. 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12 tells us why they are being destroyed in God's plan: because they did not receive the love of the Truth so that they could be saved. And it is by this choose of not accepting the Truth that God sends them strong delusion so they would believe the Lie. And in the end, so that they, those who do not believe but approve of unrighteousness, would be judged. So, we see that God acts in His plan accordingly and thus does not blind people to the truth without cause, but does offer salvation to all. May I also add that all of this was based on the human's choice of not receiving the Truth. So, therefore, let not God be judged as not being righteous, but each person has made Heaven or Hell his own destination by choice. [FONT=Arial, sans-serif]being saved (Present Passive Participle) = We, those who accept the cross as being their atonement, are being delivered from God's wrath by the opposite of what is said in 2 Thessalonians 10-12 about those who are being destroyed. We receive the love of the Truth. Because of which, God has removed the dimness from our eyes and has shown the Light to us so that we might believe the Truth. So that we, those who believed the Truth spoken to us and have no pleasure in injustice (moral wrongfulness), may be found innocent.[/FONT]

[FONT=Arial, sans-serif]power of God = The word 'power' here, by definition, means 'ability, innate power' and is derived from G1410 'to be able'. Romans 1:16 tells us that it is the ability given to us from God to obtain salvation for all those who would believe. This Gospel of the Cross did not come by word only, as the Law did, but it came with power, and with the Holy Spirit and with much assurance (1 Thessalonians 1:5). And with such power to deliver, and with such tools of the Spirit and a lively hope, we are able to pull down strong holds of the imagination, things exalting themselves against the knowledge of God, and able to bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:4-6). But none of this is to any avail without the Spirit. Seeing that without Him, the power to overcome, the obtaining of the assurance left behind for us, would be our boast.[/FONT]

Paul didn't be sent by God to butter up the Gospel to be a eternal security covering, sensuous, proud, but to hammer them (convict) them, to rip off that blanket, for underneath the simple message of the Cross and Jesus dying IS the Spirit bringing change, great, good, change, great good, as the Lord sanctifies and brings them reason enough (Him can be in them, living, breathing, and, taking them to Him in dying, for immediate Life after earthly death)

Life, Christ peeps, Life ! Forevermore ! With Him. But, you must take up YOUR own cross, just as Jesus took up His and realize your grace is real, there, because of Him, but just as Jesus paid the price , ransoming His no sins for the all, we, too, must NOT see His becoming unto our life leading foolishness, We must embrace His given ways for our life unto salvation, to be saved. This is Scripture, this is so. Quit living in your foolish beliefs, the Cross is not some security blanket that one can apply to 'Apolos,' or, to 'Paul,' but believe EVERY Word out of the mouth of God , THAT is what We are to live by, His presence in us that came unto us at The Cross

ALL was forgiven at The Cross, so, live in the peace of His Blood having covered you when Jesus died at The Cross, because He rose again, from The Cross, killing sin, killing death, forevermore, at The Cross, The Cross of Christ that gave us Himself after because He died and rose again to personally be with us though He now sits at the right hand of God, all because of what He did...

Where is one who is wise, where is one who is a scribe, where is one who is a disputer of this age (world in the sense of a period)? That they are strong in the Lord, as oppose to worldly power. That they are noble in the Lord, as opposed to being noble of the world. By no means is he saying that we were chosen because we are stupid, but that we seek spirituality as oppose to what the flesh has to offer. So yes, the world sees us as stupid and the cross as an absurdity, but know that in Christ, we are wiser than the most wise the world has to offer, we are more conquerious in spiritual things than they are in the flesh, oh yes, we are more noble kings and priests who shall reign on Earth righteously than they who rule according to flesh.
