So many people on Christian Chat, including myself, have fallen victim to this disease. Is it really a disease? No, but in a metaphorical way yes.
What I mean is, we keep arguing with each other over scripture etc., when the Bible tells us not to in many different areas. I'm going to post 3 quotes, Matthew which says to try and agree with your adversary quickly, Titus that talks about only warning someone twice about the law as well as not wasting time on arguments, and Galatians which talks about not arguing whatsoever:
[h=3]Matthew 5:25King James Version (KJV)
[SUP]25 [/SUP]Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
Titus 3:9-11King James Version (KJV)
[SUP]9 [/SUP]But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;
[SUP]11 [/SUP]Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.
Galatians 5:19-21[/h]King James Version (KJV)
[SUP]19 [/SUP]Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
[SUP]20 [/SUP]Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
[SUP]21 [/SUP]Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Definition of Variance:
Definition of Strife:
By the way, I dont know why Titus and Matthew are bolde, I think its because I bolded variance and strife but I dunno. However, we should all read these and realize all our arguments on many threads in the Bible Discussion Forum are actually bad. There shouldn't be some threads with over 1,000 replies of just pure arguing [Salvation and works threads].
Lastly, I am guilty of participating in this, but I'm just saying we all need to learn from this.
