We all should keep in mind we as people who have social media accounts have a responsibility. You may not think about the outcome of your freedom of speech. But yes, it's free but we must be responsible with our words. Words are powerful and can end or start wars. Uncle Tom's Cabin had a big attribute to starting the Civil War by only jotting words down in a book. The Boston Massacre occurred on March 5, 1770. The actual event which left 5 colonists dead left us to wonder who shot first that started the snowball effect leading to the death of innocent people. Only three weeks later Paul Revere's engraving had the title The Bloody Massacre in Kings Street. Which had the historical picture at the bottom which actually distorted the facts and made it look as an act of war. Now it is only a matter of opinion if these two examples were justified to starting violence to create freedom. With all the hate in this country just ask yourself three questions. Is my post helping support peaceful causes or support violence? When is violence necessary? And does violence solve the problem? Violence is necessary to produce or defend freedom but you have to be very careful on deciding if violence is the answer. After all, America would not be the United States if we did not decide to take up arms. I AM NOT saying violence is the answer to all circumstances because we do have peaceful legal actions we can take if people stand together instead of in separation. So just remember your post could start a war or end a war. Be responsible people and above all what would Jesus do!
