Hey guys, this poem I wrote started with an idea, and it has grown into something so lovingly god inspired. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do:
In Victoria
I ran not
because precious things
of all the world
abound me onward
I ran not
because my enemy
who threatens death
pursued me
I ran not
because of pride
long my ruler
whispered sweetly
I ran not
because great men
who wed power
promised glory
I ran because
I had awoken
from a deep
and wicked slumber
I ran because
my eyes saw
for the first time
the great saviour
I ran because
my heart knew
for the first time
impossible love
I ran because
as I wept
as I surrendered
I was free.
In Victoria
I ran not
because precious things
of all the world
abound me onward
I ran not
because my enemy
who threatens death
pursued me
I ran not
because of pride
long my ruler
whispered sweetly
I ran not
because great men
who wed power
promised glory
I ran because
I had awoken
from a deep
and wicked slumber
I ran because
my eyes saw
for the first time
the great saviour
I ran because
my heart knew
for the first time
impossible love
I ran because
as I wept
as I surrendered
I was free.
