Am I a Christian?
I pose this question to everyone, as Christians are all called to test themselves to see if they are in the faith (2 Cor. 13:5). Let me state that I myself am nothing but a lowly follower of Christ, not because I sought Him out (Rom. 3:11, Rom. 9:11, Rom. 10:20), but I believe He called me (1 Cor. 7:40, Gal. 1:15). As Paul wrote, I do not deserve this (1 Cor. 15:9).
In my first hour on this site all I see is arguing. Christians have the mind of Christ (1 Cor. 2:16), born again with the Holy Spirit inside them to guide them into the truth in God’s Word (Jn. 3:3-5, Jn. 16:13, 2 Thess. 2:13). That being said, we are to be of one mind (1 Cor. 1:10) with divisions between us only indicating who is genuine (1 Cor. 11:19).
In all humility, I ask why do so many people here seem to cling to the teachings of men who twist God’s Word to their own destruction (2 Pet. 3:16)? Any teaching or view that contradicts God’s Word is false. God’s Word directly opposes Preterism, Calvinism, free-will salvation, UMC, Baptists, Catholics, Pentecostals, reformed churches, Assembly of God, and more.
Acts 2:44
44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common.
Romans 1:18
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.
John 8:47
47 Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God.”
Calvinism gets one thing very correct—God chose who would believe beforehand and people do not have the free will to save themselves by stating they believe in Christ if they are not called, as Christ himself states below:
John 15:16
16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
Acts 13:48
48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.
