The police commissioner has just given a statement,
it seems a car travelled along Westminster Bridge deliberately knocking over a
number of pedestrians, including two policemen. Somehow a woman ended up in the river,
whether she jumped to get out of the way or was knocked in, it isn't clear.
The car then hit the railings outside of Parliament a man jumped out and ran towards
a police officer stabbing him. He was then shot dead.
Everything else was done as a precaution i.e. locking down Parliment, blocking off roads,
searches etc. Just in case there was a second person involved and also to preserve
evidence.
It doesn't appear there was any real threat to Parliment. It's the pedestrians outside on the
bridge and the police man who was stabbed, who got the worst of it.
