Not directed at you, just for the record there is really no "whosoever" in John 3:16, in Greek, or otherwise. It is "believing ones" or "the ones believing" "pas pisteuo." That is the proper interpretation. Today we have people preaching that "whosoever" means "You don't have to be chosen by God, you do it yourself! WHOSOEVER!!!!" Then they fight against the truths of predestination, election, and enthrone man while attempting to dethrone God. That is a false gospel. But the fact remains many profess to being Christian while rejecting the truths of Scripture they don't like.

Here's a truth: All elect will be saved, and all saved are only the elect.

As we know, we, being chosen by God via his grace only believe by his power; Ephesians 1:19, and by his grace, Acts 18:27.
I doubt that anyone will argue with you, they will simply ignore you just as they ignore the scriptures that they don't like.

To post Preacher4truth #220:
Says the Calvinist who's gospel in Acts 16:30,31 says to " what must I do to be saved" "nothing, you can do nothing because God will save you if you are one of His elect chosen ones".

We respond as a result of being given the gift of obedience, so of' course we do as He commanded. You can't resist irresistible grace, especially when all He ask us to do is simply believe.
How simple is that, it just doesn't get any better than receiving the gift of a completed work of salvation. We receive it on a silver platter, while your pro choice mob work your butts off and still don't have any assurance. Quite sad really

We respond as a result of being given the gift of obedience,

Do you have scripture that says we respond because we have been given the gift of obedience?

I have never heard of such a gift.

Where is this gift of obedience found in the Bible?

I just can't understand why they are like that. I was Calvinist in my younger years because I read Calvinist books but I changed my mind after reading the Bible.
I leaned towards the arminians before I was saved.

Thinking that my choices and my works and words caused God to move and to act.

But after I was saved and after reading the bible a few times I worked out my salvation with fear and trembling.

I found out that it was God who was the One who was causing me to move and to act and not the other way around.

Some people have placed their own self on the Throne and the reason why they hate the Calvinist doctrine so much is that it points it out and places God back on the Throne where He always was/is whether a person wants to acknowledge it or not.

Yes Sir, I'll give you plenty. Not just one, get your mind around these below

The Lord has made everything for its own purpose,
Even the wicked for the day of evil.
Prov 16:4
And He will send forth His angels with a great trumpet and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.
Mt 24:31
now, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them?
Luke 18:7
So that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord,
And all the Gentiles who are called by My name,’
Says the Lord, who makes these things known from long ago.
Acts 15:17-18
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.
Romans 8:28- 30
Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies;
Rom 8:33
for though the twins were not yet born and had not done anything good or bad, so that God’s purpose according to His choice would stand, not because of works but because of Him who calls,
Romans 9:11
For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” So then it does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy.
Romans 9:15-16 (the whole chapter)
God has not rejected His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel?
Rom 11:2
In the same way then, there has also come to be at the present time a remnant according to God’s gracious choice. But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace. What then? What Israel is seeking, it has not obtained, but those who were chosen obtained it, and the rest were hardened;
Romans 11:5-7
but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God predestined before the ages to our glory;
1 Cor 2:7
He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will,…
also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will,
Ephesians 1:5,11
knowing, brethren beloved by God, His choice of you;
1 Thes 1:4
But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.
2 Thes 2:13
Paul, a bond-servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the faith of those chosen of God and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness,
Titus 1:1
according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood: May grace and peace be yours in the fullest measure.
1 Peter 1:2
All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been slain.
Rev 13:8

I have contended that we are all Arminian until we get saved then some elevate themselves into the special class of the elite elect.

Calvinism as it is taught today is not supported in the bible. We are elect in Christ not elected to be in Christ. We are inheritors of the blessings God has for His children. We owe all to Christ our Savior. Christ will indeed receive and save all who come to Him. He must be lifted up to draw souls unto Him.

Dear Roger, you haven't addresses the big problem we see in the world. Why does 90% of the world hate Jesus and His Gospel, why don't more people chose Him. Arminius never had an answer, because he didn't believe the Word of God which c;early tells us.

You know man is a fallen sinful creature with no power to choose to believe in his fallen spiritually dead state. Why are you people so blind to what the Bible says about our state, you're constantly saying you don't need God. You can do this thing on your won, well then Jesus didn't come for you if you can do it alone

But that wasn't Arminianism you were adhering to. Arminianism is almoat the same as Calvinism except that God's grace can be resisted. Arminians believe it is God doing the initiating but not in only an elect few, in everyone. You just have not resisted Him so far.

Brother, there is not one single solitary mention of God giving us the "gift of obedience" in any of these scriptures you quoted.

Not one.

The reason there isn't is because there is no such "gift" mentioned in the entire Bible.

Please stop promoting false unbiblical doctrine to God's precious children.

Please read what the Bible does say:

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Each person must choose to believe and obey the Gospel, in order to be saved.

Here is your version of John 3:16

You need to read Arminus' works on total depravity.
Jesus addressed this in John 3.

John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Men choose darkness over Light because they love their sin.
