I will answer this way......If you have a need, you want to pray about it. So you go to the Word and find out Gods will concerning it. Gods will is Gods Word. So now you have the need, you know Gods will, and you pray according to Gods will. Healing for example. You need healing....You look up what God says about healing. By His Word you KNOW that God wants you healthy and whole. By Jesus striped you WERE healed. You also know that healing is already done. So you go to the Father and tell Him. "See? Your Word says I am already healed. So I stand on your promise. I claim my healing, I receive it. It is mine and I reach out to you and take it according to your promise to me." This is praying according to His Word.
Or conversely...Don't look and see what God has to say...Just whine to Him "Oh God! I'm so unworthy! If it be thy will...please heal me." Yuck!! God looks around and says "Yes This is my retarded kid." Ok...He doesn't really say that. I do. LOL But its this kind of powerless and ungodly prayer that Christians tend to pray, then wonder why they don't get answers...Then, not getting answers, they make excuses for God, and why He couldn't or wouldn't heal them but wants them sick so they can learn something.
Its an ungodly prayer because it does not take any thought of what God says about it. It takes no faith at all because they don't expect to be healed at all. If its your will.....The Word says plainly what His will is. If they would take the time to find out by searching it out in Gods Word, they would not need that sappy false humility. "I'm so unworthy!" False humility! The Word says we have been made worthy.
If our prayers do not line up with Gods Word.....They are ungodly.
I agree that God does not want us sick so we could learn something.
If He's GOD and can't figure out another way to teach us something, it kind of brings Him down to our level.
I do want to say, however, that God CAN use anything for someone's benefit. Even sickness.
I don't want to be sick. But maybe it could help someone in some way. So God USES the bad circumstance, not that He CAUSES it.
As far as the healing, I do understand what you mean about finding out God's will.
But it's God's will that we all have health, isn't it?
So if your statements are correct, why do some people get healed and some don't??
Everyone who prays for a serious healing REALLY wants it.
