And where do megalopolies come from? They come from a Capitalist model! The problem with Capitalism is that it means that someone is always suffering to an extreme financially compared to someone who is extremely wealthy.
This is why you have poverty, when there is enough money to go around.
The question with Capitalism, is if it is for some 'big dream' where we all end up in a great place, then when is that time, or is that the carrot on a stick for everyone?
Whatever model exists, it will be exploited to the highest extreme. There should be a cap on monopoly. Every model has good about it, even communism.
Mix them all together and you get a more perfect model.
Even religious belief systems are models on how to view God and society (and there is only one God regardless, it just depends how you view God based on the model).
In Sharia law, charging interest on loans is banned. In fact, charging interest on things was the rise of capitalism, suddenly making money out of money, eureka said the fat cat!
Money should be lent to help out, not to make you a monetary slave.
Do you remember the last time products were generally made to last forever? Spend, spend, spend. Consumerism, capitalism, someone gets much fatter while others die. America even charges for healthcare... a rich country charges for healthcare!! Have money or die! So glad I have the NHS.
Capitalism has nothing to do with raising prices! It's about having a free market where anyone can open a business and there is competition between businesses to attract customers. If anything, capitalism LOWERS prices as competitors undercut the competition to try and win over customers.
What we have now in this country are megalopolies (monopolies comprised of a handful of big businesses that control the lion's share of the market)
Examples of megalopolies: Banks, airlines, oil companies, phone carriers, insurance companies....
There needs to be more competition in the marketplace. These big companies hold all the cards and can raise prices all they want because they have no real competition.
That's not capitalism, that's closer to socialism where you have no choices and no control over what you get or how much it costs.
