Ok, but aside from voting at the polls, what more are we to do? If the Federal Government passes laws, and the president we currently have is going to push through legislation and sign executive orders without going through Congress, what do we do? Roe v. Wade was a Supreme Court decision. What could Christians have done to prevent it? I can march on Washington D.C. all I want and that isn't going to change what is law. I think it is a shame what has happened in our country when you look at the drastic changes we've had in the past 20 years, even. The thing with laws is that they aren't always permanent. Take the Mexico City Act for example. If you aren't familiar with it, it bans the use of Government funds for promoting abortions abroad. Reagan enacted it, and since then it has been rescinded by Democratic presidents and reinstituted by Republicans. So what good is a policy like that if it is constantly changed? I have been to demonstrations and peaceful protests and prayer gatherings both in Washington D.C. and here in my home state to defend life. But so far Roe v. Wade has not been overturned. And even if it is, will that stop abortions from happening? The problem is not a legislative one, it is a moral one. You can't legislate morality. Not that I will ever stop speaking out about abortion. But it's another issue that divides people and gets people angry to the point that I think the love of Christ is not being shown to the lost. We have lots of religion in this country, and churches are on every corner, but where is the Church? Christians rip each other apart all the time. All you need to do is read these forums to see that. So where is the unity? Shouldn't we be banning together across the globe to spread the life giving, bondage breaking, soul saving Gospel? I feel alone sometimes in my desire for this, and I feel like all of these other issues are designed as a distraction to get our emotions tangled up and to get our focus off of Jesus and what He came here for. I'm not pointing a finger at anyone because I'd have 3 pointing back at me. God has been opening my eyes and waking me up from my complacency. What we need aren't more laws. We need Christians out in their neighborhoods and communities getting involved in people's lives. I can't tell you how many times I've been grocery shopping with my 3 kids and stopped to have conversations with people I meet there. Sometimes we stand and talk for half an hour in the produce isle or canned food isle. That's what it's about, right?

You are right. It's too late for America. And, America was the "Shining light on a hill" but no longer so. The supreme court legislated Roe v. Wade, but presidents appoint the justices. And, if there were more conservative Christians voting, rather than the Jessie Jackson/Al Sharpton/Rev. Wright Christians, there would be more conservative justices, who serve, or should I say rule for life. It has been too late for America for a long time. You said 20 years. Roe v. Wade celebrated it's 40th birthday last week. Sen. Joseph McCarthy tried to stop the socialist takeover, but no one believed him; and he was right 100%. Our slide into socialism started 100 years ago. Pres. Woodrow Wilson started this one world government with the League of Nations. The league disappeared. Now in it's place we have this beast called the United Nations. It's all in prophecy. Not much needs to happen before the antichrist will be made known. I truly believe it's time to make ready for the tribulation. Things are going to get a lot worse before Christ returns.

Oh, you're definitely right that things have been heading in that direction for a very long time. I only meant that in my lifetime, I have seen dramatic changes. I had a conversation with a WWII veteran, 89 years old, who flew bombers. He sees what's going on, and I can only imagine how different the world and country are to him compared to when he was a teenager fighting in the war. It's sad, but like you said, it's been prophesied that there will be an antichrist some day, a one world power, and we see the shift in that direction. The freedoms that were enjoyed by many here for over 200 years have been taken for granted and people are willing to give them up for entitlements. People vote for the one who will give them what they want. Unfortunately, I think you're right and things are going to get much worse. It's a time for us all to seek the Lord and draw closer to Him so that we are not deceived.
