Hey Absolem,
When two people come together in relationship, they begin to walk together through life. The problem this will pose is that, in order to walk together, you must have the same destination or goal. Unless the two agree, they cannot walk together. I am not saying that is not possible that the other party will find Jesus while in the relationship, but that it is, more times than not, a bad idea, since the two have to agree to walk together. A Christian and an unbeliever will have different goals, and a different mind. They will be walking in different ways. So in order to walk together, one of the party will have to change or compromise.
Personally, I've never had the experience of someone I've dated who is an unbeliever coming to Christ within our relationship. I had a relationship a couple years ago that just kind of "happened". I went to a coffee shop the barista that helped me ended up giving me her number, and we went for sushi and ended up dating for a little while. The crazy thing is, I knew that this wasn't going to work even before the first date. There was an uneasiness in me, God speaking to me that this isn't for me, but I went through with it anyway. I ended up dating her for a couple months, but I ended it after truly thinking about how it wont work, since we both are moving in different directions. She was wanting things that I could not give her, so I had to break it off. We were not agreed, so we could not walk together.
Here's some bible:
Amos 3:3 New King James Version (NKJV)
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?
2 Corinthians 6:14-17 New King James Version (NKJV)
[SUP]14 [/SUP]Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? [SUP]15 [/SUP]And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? [SUP]16 [/SUP]And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you[SUP][a][/SUP] are the temple of the living God. As God has said:
“I will dwell in them
And walk among them.
I will be their God,
And they shall be My people.”[SUP][b][/SUP]
[SUP]17 [/SUP]Therefore
“Come out from among them
And be separate, says the Lord.
Do not touch what is unclean,
And I will receive you.”[SUP][c][/SUP]
