I think there is a difference between having money and using it appropriately, and the Word Faith or Prosperity Gospel. She touched on it a bit in this video.
The Health and Wealth gospel makes the gospel about us. Our gospel has to be about Jesus Christ. The gospel is not a "get out of hell free" card. It is not an invitation to become rich.
The gospel is an invitation to serve the living God, to know Him and have a relationship with Him. I do believe that Jesus was telling us to cling to God, to love him first, and our neighbor as ourselves. When we make getting money the gospel, then it is "all about us."
Christ may give us money or give us nothing. That should not determine how we serve him. I was just reading about a Nigerian televangelist on another thread. Now that is the worst of the worst of health and wealth! Getting rich off the flock, when they are living in a country which has huge inequities and a large class of people living in poverty.
"
Poverty in Nigeria remains significant despite high economic growth it first started sometime during the British empire.
Nigeria has one of the world's highest economic growth rates (averaging 7.4%[SUP]
[1][/SUP] over the last decade), a well-developed economy, and plenty of natural resources such as oil. However, it retains a high level of poverty, with 63% living on below $1 daily," Wikipedia
And I don't have much money either, anyway! But a lot more than those poor Nigerians!
