Yes we are. Having the a image or likeness of God means in the simplest terms that we were made to resemble God. Adam did not resemble God in the sense of God’s having flesh and blood. Scripture says that “God is Spirit” and he therefore exists without a body. But when he created Adams body it did mirror the life of God in so much as it was created in perfect health and was not subject to death.... before sin.
It would seem that you are not mixing faith in what you do see or hear from the scriptures like the people in Acts 14 when they saw the work of God that he performed through Paul They attributed that unseen work of His Spirit to Paul and Barnabas You could say as if it was our father in heaven and the Son working together .Not mixing faith(the eternal)
Paul and Barnabas knew they had committed blasphemy which violates the first commandment in so much we are not to have other gods before Him or in replacement . We walk by faith not by seeking after a signs and wonders gospel.
And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men. Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people.Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out,And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein: Act 14:11
I would sugest studying what it means to mix faith in what you do see or hear (the temporal) and then the eternal becomes clearer to see as His word enlightens our new hearts
