I did for 2 years until the kids went back to their father, fostering isn't too hard. And yea, you probably wont get all of the info you need by doing research, but the process isn't too complicated, but can be somewhat lengthy. I don't remember the entire process, but i do remember that i had to be fingerprinted and pretty much childproof my house, after that a social worker came by, checked out everything to make sure i had room for kids/ children beds ect, after that she gave it the ok. Opinion-wise i would say the social worker visitations would usually interfere with the schedules i had set, and they would visit a lot. If you intend to foster, expect to have to update the childs medical details, i remember for me i had to pretty much have everything updated, dental, shots, and random therapy sessions they might suggest included. Lots of driving... Also if they have parents you might have to do visitation time for that too. But overall its not that bad, the agency pays for everything, but it requires A LOT of time and could be somewhat stressful if you are not ready for all of that... But even if you aren't ready for it just pray about it. Its not as complicated as it seems, and the social workers will usually walk you through everything, and give you all of the resources you will need.
