No, not for the Zodiac, astrology is an abomination...
Lev 19:26 Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment,
nor observe times.
Deu 18:10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination,
or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
Deu 18:11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
Deu 18:12 For all that do these things are
an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
Isa 47:13 Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now
the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.
Isa 47:14 Behold,
they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.
Zep 1:4 I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with the priests;
Zep 1:5 And them
that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear by the LORD, and that swear by Malcham;
Deu 4:19 And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and
when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.
Deu 17:2 If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought
wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing his covenant,
Deu 17:3 And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them,
either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;
OK, I think we see God's thoughts on astrology here, so what are the sun, moon and stars for? The NIV is helpful here...
New International Version
And God said, "Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years,
Psa 104:19 He appointed the moon for seasons; The sun knows its going down.
Let's look at the moon for a moment...
1Sa 20:5 And David said unto Jonathan, Behold, to morrow is the new moon, and I should not fail to sit with the king at meat: but let me go, that I may hide myself in the field unto the third day at even.
1Sa 20:18 Then Jonathan said to David, To morrow is the new moon: and thou shalt be missed, because thy seat will be empty.
1Sa 20:24 So David hid himself in the field: and when the new moon was come, the king sat him down to eat meat.
2Ki 4:23 And he said, Wherefore wilt thou go to him to day? it is neither new moon, nor sabbath. And she said, It shall be well.
The New Moon determines the beginning of months and although the New Moon is not listed in Lev 23 as one of the Feasts of the Eternal, Israel observed it. On the first day of each month, the New Moon, they dedicated the month to God.
The Sacred Calendar is derived from the moon. The first day of the month is called the molad. The Feast Days are counted from this day. The entire Calendar is derived from the Molad Tishri, the New Moon of the seventh month. That is also a very special Feast Day...
Lev 23:24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.
This Feast day is a shadow of a very special event. Know any other places in the Bible that trumpets are blown?
Rev 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.
Christ returns. Something else happens...
1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1Co 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
The resurrection occurs on the Feast of Trumpets at the return of Christ...
1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
1Co 15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
The early N.T. church observed the New Moons...
Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of
the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
The sun, moon and stars were given to determine when God's sacred Feast Days occur, not to be used in astrology.
