Some of us have kids and allow them to use the computer. Dangerous playground. Came across a great site with some excellent reviews on the best free software when you (the Parent) want to filter the content.
Here's the link:

It's from a site called Gizmo's freeware. Has some really good reviews on free software broken into categories. Free is pretty affordable and anyone with a family benefits when they don't have to pay for software (which is overpriced anyway).

God bless.
Any one with kids should have a filter. Its not that the kids are bad. But as they get older, curosity
can get the best of them with hormones raging.
The average age a child was confronted by sexual pictures was 11 two years ago. That age is now
9 years old.
Your child doesn't need to do anything but open a browser to receive a sexual notice. If they have
an email account, its easy for them to receive sexual content. The latest tactic is to use headlines
like Win a FREE Cellphone, etc. This gets most kids to click on it. But the picture they see isn't a
cellphone or the latest game.
No matter how well you train your child, they will still see sexual content just because they have
an email account. My yahoo account gets 3 - 5 sexual content emails daily. My hotmail account
gets at least 5 - 10/week. My gmail account gets several each week. Only a filter will stop these
emails before they get to the inbox to be read.
If your child goes to any teen chat site, sexual pictures are shared and posted on hundreds of
friends pages. Its impossible not to see them. Many of the teens use subject lines like How do
you like my kitty? etc to bypass the filters on the site by using a redirect link like shorturl or
offto.
The only thing you can do is teach them well and delay their exposure as long as you can by using
a filter. Some of the filters allow you to enter key phrases. I suggest you also enter all your phone
numbers so you will know if your child is giving out their phone number and to who. Some filters
allow you to put in your cell phone number and it sends you a text message if your child receives
a email or text message with any of the key phrases in it or tries to send an email containing any
of the key phrases.
You'll be amazed at what your child will do once they start seeing sexual pictures. It is also not
a good idea to let your child spend the night at a friend's house. Today, many teens have a playboy
or penthouse in their bedrooms or a computer that has no filters on it allowing free access.
Trust God not your children. They are human and have weaknesses that no training can over come
when they are bombarded daily by sexual content.
Many parents let their kids watch tv shows that have high sexual content right in the safety of
their own home. The biggest threat to the home and family is the sewage ditch of the world that
drains into your home called a TV.
