Around a year ago I first met with a priest to talk about God. After we talked he offered to pray for me. I had told him about my cannabis habit and he brought this issue before God for me. God took away my habit that day.
Fast forward a few weeks. At this time I was still looking for a church to belong to, and one Sunday I met with a deacon who offered also to talk about the Lord. We sat in a coffee shop. I eventually told him about my habit of eating too much and being sick. Bulimia nervosa I think they call it. I had done it for 6 months.
He told me more about Jesus as our great high priest. He asked if he could pray anything for me. I asked if he could pray about my sickness. I haven't been sick since that day.
God has done so much for me, these things and much more, how can I ever be grateful enough? I can't, can I? It is his divine gift to us through Christ. Nothing I could have done could have earned these things.
Over the past year I have been going regularly to a church with the second deacon in the story, now a priest. Though there are still many things not right with me, I am thankful for this amazing journey God has put me on.
I pray for those seeking God's healing hand. Through faith in Christ we are healed. Amen.
