Heaven is where ever the Lord is, in John 14:1-4“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
You are misinterpreting this passage, and it certainly does NOT mean that Heaven is where ever the Lord is. God is omnipresent but that certainly does not make the universe "Heaven". When Jesus said "in my Father's house" it could have only one meaning -- God's Heaven -- where also the heavenly city New Jerusalem is presently located.
The Lord Jesus Christ came from Heaven, returned to Heaven, and is now seated on His throne at the right hand of the Father. That truth in itself tells us that Heaven is a definite place with a very definite purpose. Do the souls and spirits go to Heaven to be with Christ? Absolutely. Absent from the body, present with the Lord.
