" It is more blessed to give love than to receive, as God always gives love."
Give as much love as you possibly can; give sincere compliments, keep your manners about you, be generous etc - but do it purely from the heart
It may take a little time because we feel tired, frustrated, or annoyed by others; but the more you open yourself up to give love, it will become easier.
Pray to God that he molds your heart to express it's loving nature.
" As Abraham was blessed with the better when he gave in for his nephew Lot, so we are blessed more greatly when we give in for our brother's and sisters."
Giving in" in this since, means yielding; as in having patience and understanding for those around you. Even if someone is rude or angry, condition your heart and mind to have good tolerance. Be very slow, if not at all to anger.
Pray to God for patience, tolerance, and meekness
" Being arrogant means wanting to be served."
This was by far the best way I've ever heard arrogance explained; it's so true. when we think of only ourselves, we focus on our needs, our desires, and dismiss those of others. We feel our time is important and become impatient; we believe our needs are of upmost importance and become selfish; we feel we have prestige in some way over others and become hardened. Consider how you can serve others before yourself, and discipline yourself to rationalize your self - perspective, instead of thinking " I need, I want, me, me, me -" what about " does anyone need anything? How can I help someone today?"
Pray to God for humility.
" Though others do not work, we should not complain but do our work faithfully. Having the mind of a master allows us to work with pleasure and ease."
This is my favorite quote from her; everyday people complain about work or this or that they have to do; but a master enjoys their work and does so with pleasure and ease. I adopted this philosophy for household chores and doing errands for others and its crazy how true this statement is! Do not complain, but rather enjoy and do work with pleasure.
Pray to God to help against a grumbling mind.
" Arrogance comes from a mind full of complaint. When we serve God always with gratitude in our hearts, complaint and arrogance recede from us, and humility dwells in our hearts."
The more you up your gratitude and sincerity, the less your arrogance will become, because you will be doing your actions to appease God and in turn, developing into a great person.
Pray to God for gratitude and a mind to please him
" Whoever wants to be led by the Lamb, should become a lamb smaller than the Lamb."
This one is pretty self explanatory; it also implies at overstepping the authority of God and doing what we want regardless.
Pray to God for humility
" Sacrifice is needed to become a greater vessel."
One of the most humble things is sacrificing something of yourself to assists someone else; it could be giving up extra time, or doing a favor you hate to do something like that.
Pray to God for endurance.
" Even God did not come to be served but to serve. When we serve one another without wanting to be served, God will be pleased."
I love this quote too; Jesus Christ was so humbled on earth; feeding the hungry, giving to the needy - even washing other people's feet. God did service to sinners and never did he boast or glorify himself in an arrogant manner. This is a good mind to have; service comes from humility because one realizes that they are not above another to do a service for another.
Pray to God for a humble heart and mind.
- A really wise woman spoke these originally -
I have been working to abide by them and they truly are great guidance - with God's help of course. God will definitely help you, refining your heart, mind and soul so that you can be humble and meek ^^
