One who knows how to inquire for directions is less likely to get lost. While pride cries, "Now, now!!" humility whispers, "Patience, Patience." While pride says "I can do it (or I know it)," humility says, "I need help with this."
"Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."~1 Peter 5:6-7
How can we cast our cares upon God, if we're not meek enough to admit to Him that we need help with our cares? Pride places a veil upon our faces, clouds our decisions, whereby we're unable to perceive what God can do for us, if we approach Him. Pride will bring us down but with humility, we will find ourselves on the shoulders of God, because He will lift us up.
Humility teaches patience with the possibility of great reward.
