Hi everyone,
Would you ever, or have you ever, lied about your looks when it comes to dating? How did it turn out?
I read an advice column recently about a 60-something guy who was nervous about attending an upcoming get-together for an online chat group he was part of. He really wanted to go and meet the people he had been talking to, but he talked about the problem of not actually being the "thirty-something, muscle-bound, financially set" male he had proclaimed to be online. He also mentioned that because of this "identity" he had created, he had been receiving several flirtatious messages from the women in the group...
Of course, you read that this happens A LOT with online dating.
Have you ever had this experience? Meeting someone and they were completely different from who they said they were, or pretending to be someone you were not and then meeting someone? What happened? How did it turn out?
I guess I for one am too lazy to try make up stories... plus, I can have a bad memory and would never be able to keep up with all the lies. My philosophy is, I may not be all that impressive, but here I am, take it or leave it, and God bless either way.
How about you?
