O
Is believing in Christ Jesus more than just believing he exists?
I believe that deliberately doing something you know is not right is classified as "sin". However, I also believe that deliberately doing something not right is also a lack of belief in Christ. Because you are ignoring Christ's teachings by doing something sinful and therefore not believing in them.
I have a verse that may be alluding to this, tell me what you guys think, am I on the right track and where can we go with this newly found way of thinking about the phrase "believe in Christ"?
But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment:
*about sin, because people do not believe in me; *
(It seems that he is classifying all sin as unbelief)
about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned. (*John *16:*7-11 NIV)
P.S. Maybe we can think about the word believing like "be live." Because by believing we are living out Christ's teachings.
