12 I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need.13 I can do all things [i]through Him who strengthens me.
Left and right.
High and low.
Rich and poor.
Life has an amazing buffet of experiences for us. Some of the experiences are good, some are not so good, and some are simply horrible.
Paul said he experienced both good and bad. He said he found the secret of how to face every circumstance.
That secret looks simple on paper.
He said he could do all things, "through Him who strengthens me"
This is more than a rote mantra or positive affirmation to quote when facing difficulty. It's more than simply shouting, "SERENITY NOW"...when obstacles come your way.
Rather you must realize that your "strength" is only found in Jesus. That means coming to Him in prayer. It's not just about saying the statement over and over, as you achieve some mind over matter mental elevation. Such an approach does injustice to Jesus, and puts more glory on your ability to quote some words.
Remember to go to Jesus, and find your strength in Him. That's your secret to facing any situation. He's your emotional, spiritual, and mental strength. Find your hope in Him.
